The Dark Night Rises Official Casting

Warner Brothers just announced that Anne Hathaway will be playing Selina Kyle (Catwomans alter ego) and Tom Hardy from Inception will be playing Bane in the next Batman movie. It will be interesting to see how much of Catwoman we'll actually see in the movie. I'm not a big Bane fan but I'm sure that Nolan will make it work.

Tom Hardy is an awesome actor but I just can't see Bane being realistic in the Nolan-Universe

Bane, not so much. He's like Hulk, a character whose only power is super strength, and with a monosyllabic vocabulary. Yipee.

said this in another thread but I feel like both of these characters could go horribly awry, although both actors are very good. I feel like Nolan will do a good job with Selena Kyle, Bane is going to take a miracle to pull off

So is Bruce Banner. Hulk still talks like he's developmentally disabled.

I never really saw Bane do or say anything intelligent. I only ever remember him running around saying "I will break you!" etc.

I'd classify him as really smart. He was able to outsmart batman by letting all the criminals from Arkham go and then just wait while Batman exhausted himself trying to capture them all. And I might be thinking of someone else but I think Bane also found out Batman's identity but I think the whole Batmans identity thing shouldn't be a major plot point for the movie.
