Maurice Jones-Drew

I remember MJD Missing crucial games down the stretch that at the end of a season that could have gotten them into the playoffs.... because of a Knee Injury!

So easy to talk when it's not you.

I didn't understand why he was out, personally.

That said, I can't reply to these players' tweets as I don't and have never played on an NFL team. But reason would lead one to believe that a Coach makes the call on who plays the downs, not the player... not everyone is Brett Favre, you know.

Ignore previous post.

Urlacher stood up for Cutler, case closed IMO.

Jay was hurt. I don't question his toughness. He's tough as hell. He's one of the toughest guys on our football team.

It's clear they went to Hanie because he was better able to avoid the pressure though...

If I just tore a ligament in my leg....I wouldn't be standing, anywhere, for any reason. Thats what gets me...

Also from the article, his center, referencing Cutler's leg:

"I didn't even think he was going to finish the half," Kreutz said. "When he came back to try it again, that amazed me. It was shaking right after he took the hit and walked back in the huddle. It was swinging like this [waving his hand back and forth].

"So I knew one of his ligaments probably went. I can't remember exactly what play it was. I know it was the second quarter. I remember him walking in the huddle, and I saw it shaking like this. I said, 'Ah, man.'"

    • Even if he beats the odds, returns midseason  and plays like he did last year it won’t warrant a big contract extension.
    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
