Black Panther movie?

Looks like we might finally be getting an on-screen Marvel superhero who isn't a white dude (Samuel L. Jackson doesn't really count as a superhero), as Heat Vision is reporting that the studio has hired a writer to get to work on a Black Panther screenplay. That writer: Mark Bailey, whose career up to now has consisted of writing/story-editing documentaries and adapting a non-fiction book for Doug Liman, so I guess they're going for real with this one. Writer of Pandemic: Facing AIDS real.

In the comics, the character--commonly regarded as the first mainstream black superhero--is king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda and, thus, possesses near-superhuman strength thanks to a powerful heart-shaped herb that's passed down to all of his fake country's chieftains. He's also a physicist, naturally.

This won't be the first attempt at bringing the icon to screens. In the early '90s, Columbia was attempting to develop Black Panther into a vehicle for Wesley Snipes, and his name continued to be attached as Artisan Entertainment, too, unsuccessfully tried to work out a panther costume that wouldn't look too ridiculous. Snipes won't be participating in this attempt, though, because now we know Wesley Snipes is actually supposed to be Blade. And also, Wesley Snipes is in prison.

    • i presented this in another thread. he throws better to the out breaking routes the wr run, but almost nothing to the inside. that is half the options on a wr route tree. How do you run an offense like that?  even the outbreaking routes he throws are moonballs, that allow the DBs to catch up unless the wr is wide open. he has to throw with a lot of anticipation becuase he doesnt have the arm strenght to get it there if he is a little late. thats probably why you see balls behind the wrs.
