I don't think Lucas could be a good safety.... Think about safety's like Harris, Minter....... they bring the wood!!!!! They kill people!!! Lucas does not like to hit people..... I'm thinking: A safety that gets burned over and over and can't tackle.......... I don't think so

I know, I hate the fact that people want to convert any corner into a safety. Ken Lucas probably wouldn't even be a good safety in the CFL.

I hate the conversion from CB to S and just throw those thoughts out. Has it ever been successful? I want a true ball hawk safety.

Give Godfrey A chance, he was a rookie last year. He will excel starting this coming season.

Michael Huff would be the greatest pickup to me.

If we can't land Peppers here in Houston I would love to have Huff back home in Texas. I don't think Huff is a bust..the guy is just not used to losing..lol. If we can land either huff of Atogwe from the rams we can keep our 15th pick and just get a young DE in the draft to go opposite Mario. Mike Furry would be a good pickup for the Panthers too since it doesn't like like Jarrett will ever come around.

Agreed he did show tremendous improvement over the latter stages of the season, he just didn't get much of a chance all season, hopefully the team fixes its mistake from last off season and cuts hackett and gives Jarret the 3rd spot.

just to note that Simeon rice is planning a comeback. Does anyone think he would be worth a shot at De for a year or two. You could probably sign him to a vet minimum to get him, if he performs well you had a productive season for little money. Thoughts?

PFT says the Jags are cutting Fred Taylor.

Doubt we'd be interested, but someone likely will be.

Fred Taylor would be a good pickup even for a 3rd down back. The drop off won't be so bad from Williams/Stewart to Taylor as it would for Goings.

it would also be good insurance in case one of them got injured (hopefully not). With that said he would probably want to start where he goes and would want starter money. So he's not really an option here though.

yea that's what I was talking about give him the Minimum and invite him to camp. Were losing peppers and he would still be a nice rotational player at his age for the minimum and would help if only slightly fix our DE rotation for a year or two. If he makes the team, great. If he has a good year in the Rotation. Awesome.

Yes fred taylor would be great 3rd back but we cant waste the money he wants for a 3rd back. We have other issues right now than bolstering our backfield. Like getting in the bidding for Haynseworth and signing Gross
