Can we all admit it now?

You’re calling players “serviceable” which is a meaningless subjective descriptor then backing that up with stats across vastly different eras of football without any context.

Youre being disingenuous and annoying.

That was what George called them.  That was his descriptor.  Drop all those if it makes you feel better  The whole convo is highly subjective.  We're not exactly following the scientific method here.  Serviceable was the low bar he set.  He also said star.  I think we can both agree that Steve Young was a star.

He didn't ask for any parameters.  He didn't ask for any context.  If he did, I would have answered differently.

I don't think anyone would argue all of those players had rocky starts to their career which they overcame.

Tedy blew the game? What game were you watching?

Dude was the only reason they were in it.

this was agains the chiefs, sorry.

You’re right. I was thinking of the GB game with the silly reach for the goal line when he wasn’t close that turned into a goal line fumble. I do remember all the discussions in here about end of the game interceptions and bad passes, etc. but that wasn’t against the Chiefs.

That said, still the best season by a QB since Cam. Best 4 game run was Darnold to start 2021, but best full season was Teddy. That makes me really sad.

I don't want us to be the Browns.

Hate to tell you this, but we are the Browns. Since the hot start to 2018, we are now 30-71. We’ve averaged 5-12 for soon to be 7.5 years. No playoffs for soon to be 8 years. Right now we are tied with Atlanta for the second worst playoff drought (Jets first). We are firmly tied for 2nd place since the 4th place teams are 3 fewer years.

    • The successful teams in the NFL right now have one thing in common: Patience. Not just with their QB, but with every facet of the program. There are going to be successes and failures, but no one panics and makes reactive decisions. Look at the Eagles, the Bills, the Ravens, the Packers, and hell, even the (newly successful) Lions. All of them showed patience with their QB's growth, let their coaches do their jobs, have drafted well, developed their own players, and plugged holes in their roster and organization with players and situations that made sense. That's what we need. And if that isn't what we have now, we need to make moves to get it there. If that means they need to blow it up to start over, then blow it up and start it over the right way. If that means to change their approach from top to bottom, change it now. But the blueprint of success is out there in the league, teams just think they know better, or they don't have the discipline to follow through.
    • X was drafted too early, needs refinement and is playing out of position. We knew this. What's the issue? Personally, I think he will be fine. Just needs more time.
    • Rozeboom is a JAG. Shaq was most definitely not a JAG.
