Hines Ward going Dancing...

Mr. Scot

...with the Stars, starting March 21.

He'll be only the second active NFL player to do so (Jason Taylor was the first). Lots of other retired guys have gone before, most recently Kurt Warner.

Sugar Ray Leonard and WWE wrestler Chris Jericho will also be part of this season.

What about Ward? You don't think he'll restore NFL dominance to this show?

Petra Nemcova is the other "hot chick" this season. Recent Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell was set to be on it but turned it down.

Also listed in the cast: Chelsea Kane and Mike Catherwood. Not sure what their "star" qualifications are. I honestly haven't the first clue who either of them is

According to Ward, dancing will help him get over the depression of losing the Super Bowl (PFT)

Ward says that he’s now dedicated completely to earning the Mirror Ball Trophy, which is awarded to the winner of Dancing With the Stars.

“It’s all about the Mirror Ball,” Ward said. “I couldn’t get the Lombardi Trophy, but I have an opportunity to get the Mirror Ball and put that on my mantel with all my other hardware.”

Wonder what happens if he loses this too.

Jericho gets Burke (who always gets the althetes). She hot as hell. Romeo gets the blonde. Kirstie gets Maksim, who always seems to have a thing for the women he dances with (Brandy & Erin Andrews, etc), pretty sure he won't have that problem this season.

about time Derek took a season off, hes won two straight seasons

Derek always got the hot chicks. Ballas gets another Disney girl (looked up who she was). He dated the last one. I think this one's married.

Cheryl would certainly have her share of athletes to choose from. Like Burke, but think Chelsie Hightower is hotter. And Lacey Schwimmer? Yowsa!

Ward gets Kym Johnston (also very hot). Karate Kid gets Karina Smirnoff (who'll likely have the smallest costumes with no Edyta again).

Tony Dovalani almost always gets screwed with lousy partners. And Wilkinson gets Van Amstel? How tall is she?

    • I don't necessarily think he will be moved, I would currently be leaning against that notion. I think a lot will depend on the coaching situation. Carroll certainly can't be thinking about wanting to go through a serious strip down and overhaul, so the longer he plans to remain, the less likely I think Crosby gets moved.
    • I think everyone says Mike Evans because of size, but really they have different strengths and play styles.  Tmac is better on intermediate routes and not nearly as good at contested catches.
    • At this point, it is criminal to go into the 2026 training camp/OTA's with XL penciled in as a #2 WR. The team must upgrade, either through free agency or the draft. If he cannot give 100% effort on significantly less snaps as a #4-6 WR(players like Tremayne have done that consistently) then I don't think you have a player worth rostering beyond the trade deadline. Offensively, we eventually have to upgrade to an NFL starting caliber C. It's been almost the length of time from Gross to Ikey since Kalil retired and we have below average to terrible C play. Love Mays as a BC-esque utility backup but he will never be an above average long term starting C.  The TE room is one of the worst in the NFL but it's a low usage position in this offense, so the investments are likely to be small, if any. I would never expect to see an elite TE in a Dave Canales offense. 100% agree on OL depth. We actually aren't bad there but BC will be gone, Mays is a UFA, Corbett is a UFA and Zavala has been both injured and bad. We have to bolster that depth again or resign guys like Mays and Corbett to keep that depth somewhat stable.
