Bengals continue to claim Palmer not going anywhere

Didin't they wait out Ocho? Probably the reason his ultimatum was more dire than "please trade me."

If anyone wants to know why character is important to a team, get on the bus and take a field trip to Cincinnati. In this case, the knock is on an owner who thinks he can win with thugs because he seems to be one himself. NO wonder Palmer wants out.

Palmer will be a better QB out of CIncy.

About a trade: First, Palmer is damaged goods. Coming off a bad season, is getting older and has been banged up a lot in his career, and has a ridiculous contract. Secondly, he has already gone public about his desire to leave/retire. The Panthers know these things. They also know that Cincy is in need of a QB in the worst way.

To Trade:

They would need the ability to talk to the player before a deal is made. Rework the contract and find out if this Queen City is a better place to land.

Secondly, I give Palmer a trade value of about a lower first or second rounder as a player. Just a guess. The difference between #1 and #4 is 1200 points. Since he is damaged goods and they possibly need a higher pick to get a QB, I would offer to switch picks for Palmer. However, 1200 gives him an upper first round value. I would add a conditional pick in 2012 (a second rounder) , based on Palmer's not meeting minimal performance standards here.

I think Cincy would take that, unless another team has a solution for their QB problems.

The problem with the Bengals is the owner and his cheapness. The Bengals are known for having the worst training facilities. That's part of the reason why Marvin Lewis gave them crap before resigning. The owner of the Bengals collects millions every year for holding the GM title... and he won't hire scouts. I heard other family members carry high ranking titles within the organization so they can get paid as well.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
