Dom Capers quote from 1995

I am currently reading The Carolina Panthers: The First Season of the Most Succesful Expansion Team in NFL History. There is a quote that Dom Capers made after our franchises 2nd win against New Orleans in 1995.

"...I knew we were playing a lot of rookies. To me, it's just common sense. When you're playing the young guys, you're only going to get better. But you're going to experience some growing pains, especially when you are playing a rookie quarterback."

The main purpose of this thread is to remind Taints fans that we whipped their ass the first time we played them. The other reason is to point out that Clausen is not Kerry Collins. Most of our young guys got better. Clausen did not. Since OTAs and training camps are now jeopardized, we need to somehow find a veteran and draft a QB of the future at #1. A Newton or a Gabbert. One or two years with a vet to get some wins for our core and to let the rookie marinate, then we take the reins off and let him take the field. Finding a QB is more important than finding a DT right now.

Yeah, it's a weak draft for QBs. I think the best thing to do is bring back Moore, bring in a veteran and let them go at it in preseason.

We had to go a year with Rodney Peete when Fox came. You need to have some patience. Wasting a pick on Cam Newton is the worst possible thing this franchise could do.
