Pulled the goalie wayy too early in this game against the Blue Jackets when points are crucial and we get scored on. Terrible decision. Tired of the way this team is playing right now. Its time to get rid of Maurice and yes Francis. The power play is f**king pathetic.

This is what happens when your team is young. Inconsistency. We could very well hit another hot streak before the season is over. We are only 2 points back right now. We need San Jose to win tonight to keep us close.

Everyone needs to just relax and let the season unfold. We aren't out of it yet. We still have time.

I agree. It is stupid to get so fired up. The power play is pathetic, but I don't know if it has as much to do with the coaching as it does effort. We looked lazy all day, both even strength and on the PP. We couldn't get into the zone (outside of Staal's line) and I believe less than 50% of the problem is coaching and scheme. We look flat out lazy. Our first line is outstanding. Our second line is above average. After that, we dump, don't chase, therefore it is a turnover.

Bowman, Jussi, Staal, Stillman, and Skinner were the only guys on ice who seemed to play balls to the wall at all. So, that was good. The second goal Cam gave up was pure laziness. He didn't move at all. Just held his glove up and prayed. Move your body and at least get in front of it. You have defensive numbers.

Mo needs to go...I mean every time some lines start playing together well, he fugs them up and changes them. True, he is youngest coach to coach a 1000 games, but his record is right at 500.....means he is just an average coach. The Canes have a lot of talent and should be playing better than what they are. Power play is gawd awful.

Oh and not playing inspired should be a reflection of the coaching staff.

IDK what Mo is thinking with changing good lines, but the facts are this:

-PP sucks, we all know.

-PK is average at best.

-Effort is NOT 100%. We have a few that are all out every game (Staal, Sutter, Stillman, just to name a few). Need full effort from all 18.

-Ward/defense isn't consistent. Either Ward lets weak shots by or the defense in front of him has an untimely line change or they skate themselves out of position at least 3 times a game.

Now, a large portion of that is coaching. And I will agree, the changing of good lines gets old. Real old. But I have to think there is a method to his madness. Maybe trying everything out before the playoffs to see different guys together. No, this isn't the time to do that. It is too close to playoff time and we're not guaranteed a spot, but he knows as well as we all do we have the talent to do it. I think Mo is a good coach, he just doesn't do things in a timely fashion. Rutherford needs to sit down with him and Francis at the end of the season and lay down the law. Win the damn division! We're every bit as good as Washington, if not better. We could be leading the Eastern right now with our talent. Every time I watch NHL Overtime I have to hear about the damn Caps.

    • I'm not sure 19 is too high for Rodriguez anymore.  He looks to be moving up boards, but it could be smokescreens.
    • I see XL this way---great athlete.  Good person.  When we drafted him, we knew he was raw.  One year of WR in college (starting) and in HS, he was a QB, I believe. We knew we would need patience with him.  I think year 3 will be make or break.  He is older, and I think that people with his athletic ability have always been better than those with less---but those with less can become more successful.  Why is that?  in my view, it is mental. XL can learn the mechanics and nuances of playing WR if he becomes focused on it and works at it.  I had the opportunity to talk to Armanti Edwards one day after OTAs (great guy) and he discussed how overwhelming it was.  He seemed shocked.  At that time, I knew that Fox hated the pick (I heard him mock Armanti to another coach when he saw Edwards drop a punt from a jugs machine--then I saw Armanti look back at Fox as if to suggest that he was feeling the pressure to please the coach. We forget that these are kids in their early 20s.  At the time, Fox was a lame duck.  Remember when he had Clausen as the #3 QB and was forced to move him up the ladder?  I liked Fox, but I think the climate and culture was influenced by the politics.  Currently, I see another Wr from SC who is struggling, but he is ina  very nurturing, positive culture. Let's see what happens with XL.  I am frustrated too---but XL was a second round talent who was raw and we traded up to get him.  He had 500 yards as a rookie--lets call 2025 a sophomore slump and see if we can't get at least 50 yards per game out of him.  If not, cut bait.
    • Sadiq feels like a lazy comp.  Sure he would be a big improvement over what we have but at a position we don't and maybe can't (midget qb) utilize.  I hope the staff puts together a list of players you automatically take at 19 (Freeling, Lemon, Downs, Faulk) and if none are there, trade back to look at (Thieneman, McNeil-Warren, Proctor, Lomu, Allen, Iheanachor, Banks, Woods).  I get the people that think an OT would be a waste because we temporarily patched that hole, and ILB and safety are a waste because that is high to take those particular positions, but by trading back we get extra picks to fill every need.  A draft that has an OT, S, ILB, slot WR, and C would really put us in a good position moving forward if we get an extra first three rounds additional pick.
