Tiki Barber just came back after 4 years but was still under contract. They said they would release him, yes?

If Palmer retires it might take that long for the Bungles to do the same.

Also, if we take Cam in the draft, I really don't think we will make a play for Palmer.

Doubt Newton or Gabbert will play in the 1st year, Rivera has made mention before about rookie QBs sitting and learning behind a vet (in the old days). We typically have 3 QBs on the roster, whos to say its not the new rookie QB, Plamer (year contract), and Moore/Clausen (the other fighting it out with Pike for practice squad)? :shocked:

I'm really starting to believe, they (JR an Hurney) plan on fixing QB this year (once and for all).

Can you trade the rights to a retired player?

See Jake Plummer. Don't remember if he was officially retired or not before being traded to the Bucs.

I thought Plummer's situation was the opposite of Palmer's. Didn't he say 'if you trade me to the Bucs I will retire' and then Tampa traded for him anyway?
