With my parents, it was all family names.

My mom wanted to make us unique....so I am named after my great grandfather, my sister's first name is my mom's maiden name and her middle is my aunt's middle from my dads side.

My name has somehow made it to the baby books and has started to become very popular...I only hear it from people who have very young children....needless to say my mom is effin pissed.

My bro is Lee, which is the most normal name out of all 3 of us, but that is my great uncle's name.

If we would have had/end up having a girl in the future, her name would have been/will be Harleigh Maria Jones... but I'm sure that will end up changing before it actually happens... That was just the most current girls name we had...

your oldest is actually a name we considered before finding out the gender of ours. I had never heard it before wifey mentioned it, and was surprised to see yours was named that.

I did the smart thing and let my wife pick it out...

lol, but yeah, she picked several and we narrowed it down... He was almost Jarrod Lee Jones, but we changed it the last couple months to Camden Lee Jones... which I will end up calling him Cam as he gets older... Cam Jones sounds like an awesome QB, or a recording artist...

Whenever my daughter has her 1st child, (God Forbit) if its a boy i've often hinted

that she should use her maiden name (my last name) as her sons 1st name. You know, just to keep the name alive. Or maybe as a middle name, middle names are good.

1st - Right before - Named because her birthday is today. Happy B-Day, Baby Girl

2nd- Before - Name is unique in my family

3rd- Before - Named after his Mom's Dad (Pa-In-Law #2) who only had girls

4th- Waaaayy before - Saw it on a spaghetti western video and liked it. Was picked even before we had #3

5th- Before - Had a fun contest among family members and my cousin (who I gre up very close to) won. Named after her and yes, i think I might have swayed the result :D

6th- Before - MamaSan wanted a unique name and it is a combination of two of her aunts

7th- Before -A traditional Scotch-Irish name I don't like so I call him by his middle name.

8th- Before -Named after his mother's Dad (Pa-In-Law #3) who only had girls

9th- Before -A unique name to the family with my name for his middle name

Jacob Christian - picked it before. She required the name to start with "J" and I wanted him to have same middle name as mine (and my dad's).

I've always liked the name Ethan, from the great John Wayne movie: The Searchers.

Also Gideon (from the bible) is a fav.

I like Ethan too, but am seeing it used more and more. The neighbor that just moved has a ~2 yr old named that.
