Any of you folks transfer to UNC?

GPA should be around 3.5 (could be lower, but this is where you want to be)

Most credits will transfer but they will require you to retake some courses or the next level up. Once accepted, they don't place you in the college of your interest. You'll have to take some credit hours there to prove you can handle it. Then apply for the college of your interest.

You'll want to make a trip up there to meet with some advisors (college of your interest). Shake some hands, kiss their ass then have them kiss yours, make sure your both seeing eye to eye.

Went up there 2 years ago for the same process. So, dont have official notes in front of me but that about sums it up.

All universities in the UNC system (State, ECU and App included) pretty much have to* accept you if you have completed you AAT (Associates of Arts-Transfer) at a NC Comm College.

*As long as you meet GPA requirements for the respective school. No SATs, no high school grades, just what you did at community college.

Edit: Now, as other have stated, getting into a specific program is a totally different story.

Thanks for the advice guys. At the moment I have around 25(estimate, not sure which credits will transfer) transferable credits and a 3.6/3.7 GPA. I should have like 30+ credits but I had to do the beginner math(two 5 credit classes that don't transfer sigh..) because I dropped out of HS and had to start over...

By the time I apply for transfer, I'll met all minimum transfer requirements(6 English credits, 6 math credits, 6 science/lab credits, 6 social science credits, 6 foreign language credits) and will have a 3.7 GPA. I could probably raise that a little bit if I get A's in calculus 1/2, but that's very doubtful lol.

Think a 3.7GPA with around 40 credits will be good enough to get me into UNC Charlotte(that's what I'm focusing on, would like UNC Chapel Hill but I've heard it's more competitive).

I'm transferring to UNCW in the fall so I just went through the process. Make sure you meet the minimum requirements that the UNC system schools have. If you are graduating with an AA AS you are better off than just transferring. Deadlines are coming up for Fall 2011 so get on it quick!

Pretty much sums it up. Make sure you go to transfer open houses, and visit with the admissions people.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
