2004 was not his first or second year, genius. he also had LT rushing for over 1600 yards and 15 tds each of those years, he was throwing off play action to gates.

also trying to compare newton to Brees is a travesty.

Apparently you missed this part of your own post

he wasn't anything special until he hooked up with offensive mastermind Sean Payton.

And your right I shouldn't compare Cam to Brees because Cam is rated much higher than Brees was at this point in the process.

 SO easy

Was he a league mvp? did he win a sb in SD? did he complete 67% of his passes when he was there like he did in new orleans?

 So what Brees sucked bc he didn't win a Super Bowl in SD in 4 seasons as the starter??

He only went to a Pro Bowl, the playoffs, and went 22-10 in those two seasons including a 14-2 year.

And you are right he didn't complete 67% of his passes it was only 65% from 2004-2005. So you got me there

In the offense you mention,he was not the focal point it all was on him like it is in new orleans. you also fail to mention he developed that accuracy with his work ethic, something newton lacks.

So he threw for over 6700 yards and 51 TDs without being the focal point. That is even more amazing.

Cam's work ethic sucks??

During winter workouts, Newton so impressed his offensive teammates in the weight room that they named him -- a quarterback -- to a five-man tug-of-war team to take on the defense. The offense won.

"He was in the rain, throwing passes on the weekend when we were at the lake," Ziemba said. "He was dragging receivers out there with him. That kind of work ethic prepared our guys to follow him."

The coaches saw that work ethic. They took note of how the players responded to Newton.

"They really believe in him," Malzahn said. "That's really one of the main reasons he won the job. In the spring, we saw that. They really trust him. So his leadership is definitely a big reason we're here."

Any more false statement??

I would go ahead and stop while I was way behind :)

The last quote just goes to show that he isn't really physically gifted and only won because of his leadership, according to his coach. He's no batter a QB than the backup but was a better leader, which put him ahead in the competition.

I don't want someone who has both to be my QB. We saw Jake with the leadership and limited skills, we saw Clausen with no leadership and supposedly a ton of skills, now I want someone with both.

According to his coach, he's barely better than the backup.

Me no want
