Canes @ Sabres

Carolina Hurricanes (27-24-5) vs. Buffalo Sabres (29-21-6)

6PM No local TV but it is on center ice

After losing the past two games to a combined score of 10-1 to sell out crowds at home, the Canes are at a low right now. This is a must win for the Canes in my opinion if they lose this one (*and the next game on Tuesday) they might as well put of the for sale sign and get ready for some trades. The canes are currently tied at 9th,5 points out of the playoffs, with Pittsburgh; while the Sabres fluctuate between 6-8th spots in the playoffs.

Leighton should probrably be in net for the canes since it's a back to back situation with Ward playing last night. EDIT: Ward in net againMiller will be in net for the Sabres.

I'm not too optimistic anymore and I kinda of want a fire sale so I'm predicting 3-1 Sabres.

EDIT:

Though I would like a nice Canes win here because the season isn't over and a win here brings us within 3 pts of the 8th spot, held by the Sabres as of this moment, and the Sabres don't have a game in hand.

    • Aggressive runner, hits the hole fast, and runs angry.  Just a few yards shy of the single game record for the team.  Absolutely phenomenal performance.  If the gameplan hadn't become weirdly pass heavy for the 3rd and first half of the 4th quarters he might have been flirting with 300.
    • I felt that way before the season started, but I'm sorry, he's already proven he isn't that guy, I don't need to learn anything more about him. He threw the ball 30 times today and could only throw for 198 yards, which was his 2nd best yardage game this year, he's just not the guy. Which means this season has already moved onto the 2nd most important thing going into this season after evaluating Bryce, and that's developing our best young players. You don't do that by only throwing 8 of your 30 passes to your best player who is still only a rookie.  Pepper him with targets and help develop him so he's ready to take a huge leap next year when we get a real HC and QB to get him the ball.
    • Every win comes from a non-sustainable source.  As CRA mentioned, Penix absolutely imploding against ATL, and then today, defense finally clicked and looked the best they’ve looked in a long time (and still have up 24 points lol) and Rico ran for 200+ yards.  We’re not going to get that every week, especially against good teams, which neither Miami or ATL are.  Both MIA and ATL are bad teams and Bryce still couldn’t get it together.  The defense (and team) had to overcome 14 points because of his turnovers again.  That was not even an average QB performance.  We are winning in spite of him.
