Charley Casserly

This one's for SecondCityPanther:

Brandon Harris, CB, Miami

Height: 5-10. Weight: 194.

Projected 40 Time: 4.41.

Combine 40 Time: 4.43.

Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.

Benchx225: 13. Vertical: 35.5. Arm: 30 5/8.

Projected Round (2011): 1-2.

3/27/11: Brandon Harris didn't run the 40 at his Pro Day. He actually had a worse vertical leap (34.5) than he did at the Combine. Charley Casserly isn't impressed with Harris, stating that he's a "fourth corner" on a team. Considering Casserly's dubious draft history, this is great news for the Miami corner.

from walterfootball, if it wasn't obvious.

How many times did Texas have a winning record under his tenure or make the playoffs? 0

He retired because he was under tremendous pressure because he couldn't produce a winner. 19-57 while he was GM at Houston from 2000-2006.

How well have they done since him?? 32-37 with 1 winning season. Not great but surely better since Smith took over.

Still 0 playoffs, losing record and the owner kept his nose out of the business moreso than when Casserly was there. Still, they are a losing franchise with or without him, that points directly to the owner as the issue.

Only to draft David Carr. Brilliant!!!!!!

Really? You want to go with that right? First off every team wanted David Carr that year. the Texans fans were just like Panther fans this year 'WE MUST HAVE A QB NO MATTER WHAT'. I have a feeling our pick at QB is going to have the same fate as Carr but I digress.

Even after Casserly left the Texans they still can't make the playoffs. Seems to me they have a bad owner.

Charlie drafted 5 future pro - bowlers as the Houston GM.

    • It depends on what version of bad we are getting. Can't have the locker room tearing apart over it.
    • I think that depends more on how high our pick is. If we have the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd pick i think we are drafting a QB rather than shopping FA market for a QB1. Curious if we’d be reluctant to start a rookie QB week 1 though.
    • Hurney 2.0 and Fitts were so bad I don't know if it was intentional or they were that abysmally clueless. Fittershits panicked repeatedly being on the back end of positional runs while Hurney couldn't evaluate anyone outside of the 1st.  I can't figure out why Plummer still has a jersey. There's no reason. Dalton brings nothing to the table. If another QB gets cut that has given a glimmer of anything better than what we have, we should look, and that goes for every position.  I cant get over how much different this team could have been with a competent GM and having accepted the Rams offer for Burns. This franchise could have gone in a totally different direction.
