Always was a dream of mine... Does anyone know where can I find a good instructor around Mint Hill area and how much does it usually cost ($5,000 - $10,000?)?

I am pretty sure it is a lot cheaper than that. Homestly I think it might be in the 500 to 1000 range. Have no idea about you chitty little town though. :p

Niah no way its that cheap... I need minimum of 40hrs in the air plus fuel cost alone will be around $2,000

I sont know about fuel cost. But the lessons I think will be not too expensive. My stepbrother looked into it here at RDU. But I didn't think about fuel cost and that stuff.

I just looked up a school and it was arounf 5,000 dollars. 3,400 for the plane rental (which I think it includes gas) and 1,400 for the lessons.

Yeah. That 3,400 was "wet" meaning fuel included. They did say that price ia subject to change with the cost of fuel.

I've always wanted to receive mine too. Flying from Greensboro to Charlotte for Panthers games would be waaay more quicker than driving.

Dont trust those schools. No one can guarentee you a job.

Arsen if you are interested do a introductory flight first. Basically all you need to do is go to the airport or call first the Flight school at your closes airport. Cost should be around $50. You will go up for about 15-20 and handle the controls. Gives you a good idea if you really want to do it. After that you will need to sign up with either a school or flight instructor. Either way is fine the big thing is to build you hours after you get licensed if you want to make it a career. Which honestly I would advice against. Sure the pilots that fly the bigger planes make money but starting out you will be lucky to make $20,000 a year. Plus you will be flying alot and overnighting in crappy hotels. But with all that said if you truley love doing it it is a blast and you can see some cool places.
