Mandon Moore is the guy that tried to kill Tyrion, FWIW...

Also, the guy that Jaime killed was his cousin Alton, and isn't even in the books... In fact, Jaime doesn't even make an escape from the camps in the books that I can recall... He did it in the show to force Catelyn's hand while Robb was away... She either had to release him in hopes of getting her daughters back, or risk someone in the camp (mainly a Karstark) killing him when nobody was looking...

He doesnt make an escape but what he does do is have a conversation with cat explaining his "philosophy" on life etc. while also admitting to pushing Bran out of a window but telling her he had nothing to do with sending an hired killer after her. They could have forced Cats hand another way than havin Jamie kill the kid in a cell. Besides the fact he's boning his sister and pushing bran out a window, hes actually a decent guy. At least to me with him killing the kid it makes him out to be more of a villian.

And like the other guy said about Jon Snow and ygritte....that rewrite was garbage. You cant use a time excuse because they had about 4-5 10 minute cutscenes with them and 2-3 where they were dicking around in the snow. They could have easily had Jon judge ygritte let her go, explain to halfhand why he did (because of what his dad had said) have them run from wildlings and let halfhand give him the orders to pretend to be a turncloak. All leading up to where he fights halfhand.

I feel the same way about the show so far that i did about LOTR movies. HBO is doing a awesome job and doing better than anyone else. But they have done some things that have made wonder.

Agree for the most part on some head scratching changes. This is one of the few novel to screen adaptations in which the books' author approves of the changes, so there must be some method to their madness.

are you saying varys or littlefinger should have been a pov in the first book?

because i disagree

i suppose arya could have overheard them sneaking around at some point, but really its unnecessary dialogue. helps to develop those two characters for tv, but the books don't need to develop these characters early.

really less is more when it comes to those characters imo

honestly...I'm only 350 pages into the first book..I forget that it's written like it is..I was simply meaning that..scenes that are on the show and not in the book are maybe things he wishes he could've fit in the book somehow but now it's too late. Does that make sense??

i think the dragons being stolen are one of those types of alterations that he wishes he could rewrite. as for adding those conversations between littlefinger and varys, or robert and cersei, or any other number of interactions between non-POV characters, no. i think they were added to replace internalizations

now go and read your little book :P

    • Ideally Bryce and the other starters should get at least a full quarter and an argument could be made for 2 full quarters given how they've played early in the season the last few years.
    • A rookie that has never played a snap and a proven 1000K NFL WR are not going to be viewed the same in these type rankings.  And calling draft picks, lotto picks, isn't some new quip I just invented.  take the big 3 Hubbard, AT, insert whatever 3rd Panther you want vs Kamara, Hill, Olave.  Most football folks outside of Carolina are picking the Saints there IMO.
    • You didn’t really address the point, just like you ignored the point about the RBs initially, and saying “they are all lotto picks” is just a really silly reduction because you could say that about literally any player rookie or vet every snap, every game, every year. It is well known that different positions have different hit rates, and I would argue different types of prospects within position groups as well, and that hit rates change the further down in the draft you go. Everybody knows QB is different and that, for example, first round OL have a really high success rate. Using your lotto ticket analogy…again…you are saying a lotto ticket with a 1 in 100 chance of hitting is the exact same thing as a lotto ticket with a 1 in 2 chance of hitting (this is an example, don’t take these odds literally). The point was he is no more of a lotto ticket than the 31yr old receiver coming off a major knee injury, and in my opinion he is better odds with a higher potential “jackpot”. Saying one player is an “lotto ticket” while another isn’t is just not sound logic. You have no idea who will break out, regress, get injured, etc. There are safer bets than others, that’s all. I don’t think Diggs is a safe bet and even if he was, weighing him over all of the Panthers WRs plus 2 1k rushers is just dumb. You can disagree if you want. The list is stupid.
