I think it has pretty much been deduced that, at some point, we will be getting a Tower of Joy flashback in season 6. This would reveal certain revelations to non-book readers if they haven't already figured them out.

I can actually see them opening the season with this (Tower of Joy scene,) much like they did with Cersei and Maggi the Frog last season.  They could maybe even flashback for the entire first half of the season opener, and then cut to Jon lying in the snow and moving on from there.

I can envision it immediately started out with a closeup behind Howland, Ned, and Co. riding their horses then zooming out as they're riding you see they're nearing tower in the distance.  The 3 in white are there at the base.  Ooooh the chills.  "I looked for you on the Trident"

I'd actually be interested in a prequel.

I want a Dance with Dragons prequel following the Rogue Prince and his crazy life.  He wielded Dark Sister, fathered 2 kings, rode one of the most badass dragons--Ceraxes, conquered the stepstones, just an overall badass.

Keep in mind it's being called a mystery role, central to the plot and a certain protagonist yet will only appear in a few episodes.  If they go with a DwD route with him, then he could be in most of the season in KL.

Well so far in the books and the show, Randyll Tarly certainly wouldn't be considered "central" to the plot.  But that may change, who knows?  At this point there are various plot lines so who knows which plot they are talking about.  Maybe he could be Euron Greyjoy but from the descriptions given of the character so far it doesn't seem likely.

I'm still going with Randyll Tarly.

I hear ya but he is quite central and does a lot.  The show could've introduced him S2.  The show may go an entirely different route though.

Books wise:

He brings the Tarly army (arguably the best in all of Westeros) to KL and is on the small council.  Gets Margery free and considering what Varys does at the end of DwD, the council is pretty much Randyll, Mace, Nymeria, Redwyne, & Aurane.

In order of who I'm thinking:

1: Marwyn

2: Tarly

3: Rickard in  a flashback

Central to the plot would be marwyn. Could see Sam seeing him at old town then him leaving to go meet dany. Low amount of episodes but establishes his bigger role for the series

Precisely.  Given what we know, I think he fits Marwyn probably better than any of the other possibilities.  I wouldn't be mad about him in any role though.  If he can become a character like he was in Deadwood, it's a win regardless.

I have seen some random guesses that he could be Hightower at the ToJ but I'd think they would use him for more than just that.
