Who else wants Lucas out of a Panthers uniform?

maybe we should start a thread at the beginning of each season where we can post throughout the year which players we want cut, executed, deported to Quantanamo, tied naked to an anthill and drenched with honey. By the end of the season the whole roster would be listed me thinks

At least Marshall has the decency to make the tackle after he gets burned. Lucas just stood there like a deer in the headlights. Some people are acting like this was a one game thing but he's been targeted by opposing QBs a lot.

That "deer in the headlights" look is the "where the fug is my safety" look. If Marshall gets the starting job, gamble won't even see a reason to cover his receiver anymore because the ball will be thrown in Marshall's side all day.

playing zone coverage its not that he wasnt covering its that he was out of positin a few times. really godfrey was the one messing up several times he was out of position like on that last td godfrey was supposed to be over the top and lucas yelled at him after the play. stop freaking out over 1 poor performance.

I'm glad there is at least one fan on this board besides me that knows enough about football to recognize that two of the long passes were blown coverages by Godfrey and not Lucas. Props to you sir for knowing football more than the "fire this guy" idiots.

He was playing horrible the past couple of weeks especially last night Garcia was always throwing his way cause he knew he couldn't cover he couldn't tackle and would give up huge plays. I think Lucas is going to be gone at the end of this season and Marshall will step into his place. Also we have C.J. Wilson who Hurney and Fox have talked good things about in the past on how he can help us a lot in the future with more practice.

You obviously don't understand football. Lucas is a solid corner. Bryant is a beast. Lucas had an off day. Everyone is allowed that. GEEZ. Lucas did look like he was distracted or had a lack of focus. Just because it looked like he got beat a lot, that doesn't always fall on him. We don't know what the coverage was supposed to have been on a lot of the plays. Maybe he was to have safety help over the top and the safety was out of postion. I do recall the safety biting up on the run on the first big play to bryant when bryant was knocked out of bounds at the goal line.

Lucas expected help over top and didn't get. unfortunately, lucas will get the blame. godfrey was out of position. lucas has been out there on an island most of the year and has done well. most of the defensive coverages we run has godfrey lined up on lucas' side. lucas has to put up with those rookie mistakes

Get off lucas. GODFREY IS MAKING SOME ROOKIE MISTAKES. He probably is hitting the "the rookie wall" He has made a lot of rookie mistakes in the past 4 -5 games

Ever since the bye Godfrey has had coverage problems.

Whatever they added has really got him confused.

As a whole, much our top 5 D has taken a dropoff since the bye. Even our beloved Chris Harris doesn't quite seem to have the fire he had earlier although he is still everywhere.

Just not quite the same D and the stats/rankings show it.

That "deer in the headlights" look is the "where the f*ck is my safety" look. If Marshall gets the starting job, gamble won't even see a reason to cover his receiver anymore because the ball will be thrown in Marshall's side all day.

agreed. godfrey has shown his rookieness lately. he has been confused, but he seems to be the type to really study and get better. I just hope he doesn't start over thinking his position

    • I don't think so. I think once you're measuring electronically, the spot is where the sensor says it is. So if it says half yard short of the line to gain, that's the spot. Now how that works with scrums and the ball moving on two minute drills and poo is anybody's guess.
