Cam wants Jersey from Clausen??? Is this all speculation or if anyone confirmed this with facts? I was watching last night and they were responding to a question that was written and asked, they never confirmed that cam wanted the jersey.

This may not even be an issue, maybe Cam does not even want the #2 from Clausen.

Cam wants it, he wouldn't have worn a #2 jersey out to the Jordan Gross kickball thing unless he was still trying to get it.

If pride is the reason Jimmy Jam wont give up the number, What does he really have to be proud of?

The people saying Newton should just take any # should say the same thing about Clausen. Jimmy actually has more to prove this year than Newton does. So what # he has is the least of his worries. I say give it to Newton.

Why??? Jimmy Clausen may not be great, BUT unlike Newton, he was here first and like i wrote earlier, Newton used to wear number 13 at Florida, so if he doesnt want to pay up for number 2, he should just go to 13.

I dont care if Jimmy Jam was here first He's done absolutely nothing at this point to have that right to be picky. He's lucky he still has a team to attend training camp for. The Coaches and Panther leadership want Newton as the face of the franchise. Let Jimmy Jam have # 13 and a head set

I think it's because one guy (the guy with the coveted #) went full retard for an entire season and one guy (who wants said #) has been red hot for two pre-pro seasons; but I'm not sure. If Clausen looked like he could play, I don't think Cam would be here and coming for his job, or the number on his back.

It all hinges on Jason Baker.

Clausen wanted his #7 last year and he wouldn't give it up.

Newton needs to pay Baker so Jimmy can have #7 and Cam can have #2

Puh. Baker is more important to our offense than Clausen is. He shouldn't have to change.

      Dude you're all over the place. Bryce definitely played better than average down the stretch last year. That's what I said. I dont think it's controversial, and I think it's true based both on stats and by actually watching him play. He was the 6th rated passer by PFF during the last 8 weeks. In no world is that below average You trying to twist this into something else is a you thing.  Have a great night

      Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
