Can someone shed some light on this idea that Newton is dumb?

The race thing seriously is a little ridiculous, quit it. Are we going to have to hear this kind of poo the entire time he's our QB?

My reasoning for thinking that is from watching that ESPN thing where they followed him around for a couple days.

The boy can barely put sentences together. Some of the stuff he says just sounds completely retarded coming out of his mouth. I wish I could find some video to show you what I mean, but those of you who watched it should know what I'm talking about.

Before that, I didn't think he was that bad, but now that I saw that, I can hear it in almost every interview. I feel like any minute he's just gonna start making up words.

Luckily, being smart and structuring sentences properly have nothing to do with being a good QB. The boy has one hell of an arm.

The laptop thing and his past mistakes aren't a result of a lack of intelligence. They're the result of a lack of maturity at the time. It certainly seems he's turned the corner and realizes what's good for him and how much he stands to gain by staying out of trouble.

And really, it's not like the guy was accused of raping two women or anything. Or hit & run. Or killing someone while driving drunk. Plenty of NFL players have done a LOT worse than buy a stolen laptop, get a few traffic tickets, and take money to play college ball.

Unfortunately, a lot of people incorrectly interchange lack of intelligence with lack of common sense/decision making.

Wow....only took 4 posts for some fuging idiot to play the race card. Thanks for not letting any of us down.

The major questions around his intellingence are probably related to:

1. Getting caught cheating multiple time....not that big of a deal to me.

2. Making the very poor decision concerning the laptop.

3. The continued discussion on how the Auburn offense was "simplistic". Whether this is true or not is debatable. Some want to believe that the Auburn offense was the way it was because of Newton, as opposed to just the fact that it is the offense that the HC and OC wanted to run.

Personally, I have made absolutely no judgements about his intelligence. We will see whether he has the work ethic and gray matter to learn and master an NFL offense. I hope and bet that he will.

I looked at what he did was just immature. Its not a race issue. People do stuff all the time not thinking about the what might happen if I do this. I did a lot of immature things also but i never bought a stolen laptop. Some random black guy probably told Cam a bruh I have this laptop I will sale it to you for a 100.00 . Cam was probably like Hell yeah I will take it especially if he dont have a laptop not even thinking were the guy got it from. Stuff just happen especially if you black.

I usually would think the race card wasn't a valid argument. But I stopped at the gas station yesterday to hear some "panthers" fans talking about Cam and one guy said "I can't believe we drafted that dumb N*****!" So take it for what it's worth. The majority of people aren't racist but that doesn't mean some aren't either.
