Chris Weinke on WFNZ about training Cam

Wow, I'm more impressed by Chris Weinke than I have ever been in my life. I wish him all the luck in the world in his coaching career.

On the other hand, I'm not at all surprised by the way Cam Newton is working. There was never a shred of evidence that he was dumb or lazy, in the first place. All that was opinions from people who decided they hated this kid from the get go and didn't want to listen to or believe anything positive about him. It's called ignorance.

And what happens when his accuracy is still an issue, or his footwork? What happens when he throws an interception because he doesn't know how to read a zone defense? Do I get to post the same poo every day or will I get labeled a troll? Are you really going to play the "I'm right" game because I doubt you want to go down that road with Cam.

How would that be different from what you do now?? All you do is post the same poo everyday.

I was TRYING to be positive about Cam but you quickly turned that around.

You try so hard TRD. But it is empowering to know I affect your emotions so much :)

I said and not get labeled. Now I get labeled because I tell the unpositive truth every day. People who spew the unrealistic optimism based in nothing but speculation and boners are rewarded and allowed to roam these boards infecting other members.

Not my emotions, just my posts in a thread. I have to force myself to search for the good when speaking about our newest project, that takes a lot of effort

Are u till worried about the positivity of the thread??

The funniest thing is my post was positive about Cam and your small mind couldn't comprehend it and you got all bent out of shape.

You are like a little kid that can't figure out one piece of a puzzle so he swipes the whole thing off the table and gets angry.

I understood it was positive, but it was being positive by bringing up something negative, leading down a bad path.

Maybe you aren't understanding my point and maybe you already answered it, but I don't see the point of bringing up an article someone else wrote every time you THINK Cam proves him wrong.

To play Devil's Advocate, Cam hasn't earned a $ yet so he could still be disingenuous and is just trying to fool Jerry and Marty, trying to get that $80mil. Once he gets it who knows.

He won't prove anyone wrong until he steps on the field on game day so bringing up old, meaningless articles is pretty dumb as well.

Yeah except the part I excerpted was questioning his work ethic not his on field questions.

And so far it seems he is putting in a lot of work on his own which is in direct contrast to the part I quoted.

And it seems the only person with their panties in a wad is you. If you are a Panther fan you should be pulling for the kid to prove all the doubters wrong.

As Niners fan you may just want him to fail so you feel vindicated.

I guess my question is why bring up Norwicki? I trust you are smarter than you seem on here and you and I both know what you were doing.

BTW I am not sure how saying that he is already proving people wrong about his work ethic is taking the positive vibe away from the thread.

:cam:

I haven't been negative in this thread at all. Bringing up quotes and old poo from one of the most heated discussions on this thread does nothing positive at all.

So you are only held accountable for what has been posted in this particular thread??

Again how does proving his critics wrong already in terms of work ethic take away from the positive vibe of this thread? Do you not appreciate irony?

And just a forewarning TRD, if Cam Newton is successful I may re-post Narwocki's analysis once a day. As a matter of fact it will become my sig. :cam:

I didn't realize you were so sensitive to maintaining the established vibe of a thread. I will keep that in mind in the future :D

Seriously guys, quit all the flirting and just get it over with and fug already.

Weinke is our franchise record holder for passing yards in a game.

Yeah, he passed the ball about 50 times in that loss to the Giants and threw 3 INT's, and people thought he was a star. Then they went to Atlanta and the coaching staff only let him throw it about 7 times, and we won with D-Will running the wildcat. That was crazy.

I brought him up because I hope everyday Cam Newton proves him wrong. This is the first step.

Plus when I challenged Narwocki's report at the time it spawned into 4 different threads about how awesome Narwocki was.

    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
    • Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
