Pup update

....about those 7 dogs I rescued........

Looks like the problem was parvo. I found a 2nd pup sick when I went home for lunch Thurs. Took to the vet. By the time I got him there knew he was not going to make it. Still had the vet give him a shot of antibiotics and got fluids for him (home treatment). He waited for me to get home Thurs evening, died right after I got there. I called him Duke. He was the biggest pup and a real handsome one.

I had gotten some vaccine for the healthy ones, when I checked on the others, pup Lucy was not well. Caught her early. Immediately gave her sub q fluids, Kaopectate and got antibiotics the next day. She is recovering...up and about and ate this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The runt pup who I called Buster, but likely will rename Marty when I decide for sure I am keeping him (prolly will). He is healthy and happy. Has gotten over his fear of people...stays on my heels.

Another pup Rosie is healthy...no sign of illness.

When the threat if illness is passed I will have 4 dogs available for adoption. 2 female pups...both black...Lucy has white paws. Their mother is pit/lab mix. Very sweet and smart. Pups look lab. They are going to make great pets.

Also available is the Mom (Dolly) and her friend a 6 mth old brindle pit (Susie). Susie is a lover. Very nice disposition on both dogs.

Will get pics up soon. I need to find good homes for these gals.

If anyone out there is interested or knows someone who is and will provide a good home.....please let me know.

Good for you for looking after these animals. If it were me I would have just taken them to the no kill shelter. It's great to hear everyone is doing better. Good luck with the adoptions!

There is not a no kill shelter here. There is an animal adoption group but they only take animals from the pound....if they have room. Will not take a chance on that!

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
