I downloaded Game of Thrones off a bit torrent site. I enjoyed it so much I bought the book though my Kindle and I plan on buying the other books. And I plan on buying the DVDs whenever they come out.

There you go HBO and George R. R. Martin you just made your money though me illegally downloading.

Sorry to post three times in a row. But I would like for the movie industry and the music industry to show me loses in revenue. But they can't because people are consuming more media than ever and they're still make big profits. The fact that they are worried about a few (key word there being FEW) people illegally downloading is a joke. And they could stop the downloading rather quickly if they would let streaming services like Netflix and Hulu have access to their catalog. But they want to squeeze every last penny out of us. And the Obama administration, specifically Joe Biden, are behind the entertainment industry and the RIAA 100%

The American entertainment industry, in my opinion, are just as bad as the oil industry.

I used to download movie torrents alot, but my cable company shut my internet off for ten days after 2 warnings about copyright infringement. Ten days without internet really sucked...

That lead me to do a lil internet investigation, and now i just stream whatever i want instantly for free. If you watch a website stream, you are not downloading anything, and are not liable to any penalties.

yeah, I stream a lot of movies on Sundays when I'm relaxing or nursing a hangover.. just received a site to find all the TV shows I've been missing on premium channels, a lot of catching up to do!

What the media fails to see is that these downloads do not in any way equate to lost profits. Once they realize this they can begin the process of catching up to what the internet has brought them.

I've never felt too bad for the big guys.. the only people downloading truly hurts is recording artists who haven't hit the mainstream, and everyone should make it a priority to support them financially.

if Universal Studios or Microsoft feels I am costing them money, they can go f**k themselves..

BTW folks, an IP address does not represent a single computer. Lots of people don't know that.

Yes that's correct, but this isn't going to be enforced by just IP address. With the ISP's being involved you're talking about them going off of IP address, Server IP address, modems MAC address, and depending on the type of internet you have there are a few other solid ways to narrow that list down to one person's modem and internet connection.

I mean you can take someone's IP address and use it to find an approximate location of the modem using that IP to within a few city blocks. That's just off the IP address, they'll have way more information to use on this.

Also the ISP's have access to the data packets that were sent out from the Bit torrent or host site to the downloading computer that gives them plenty of information to hold this up and act on it.

Most people don't realize it, but you don't have privacy when using a computer at all. No matter where you're using it, someone or something is watching what you're doing.

Streaming copyrighted material for free is still downloading and still illegal.

Roadrunner's little program worked on me, ive got 5 warnings. According to them, 1 more and my internet will be disconnected and I would possibly face charges.

To be fair it wasnt like i was making myself hard to find, haha. I had every episode of Lie to Me, How I Met Your Mother, House, and Heroes on my computer. Over 50 Movies, thousands of songs, and multiple programs(all of adobe creative suite).
