If we end up keeping Peppers one more year...

OK, I'm ready...

What you guys don't do is post visual evidence that he actually takes plays off. You whine and bitch about it, but never produce proof of it. I've stayed out of it for the most part, but a direct request for evidence was met with an "yes I got it" without supporting the request. I wanna know? Sure, he's been beat, every DE in the league has been. But we're talking intentionally taking plays/games off and I want to see evidence of that, not illusions and rehashed bullsh*t of that...

Just Watch NFL network today when they REPLAY the Panthers Giants game from this season.

You will see enough without me having to do any legwork. Conveniently enough its right there for you to enjoy.

Kiss my ass, Im not playing your reindeer game old man..

And its funny that you act like its some secret conspiracy theory.

Its not area 51, people noticed, GM's noticed, teams noticed..

Evidentially your head is to far up your ass to see?

Funny how everyones knocking down our door to land the "golden boy of Carolina"

Funny how you chose to use insults and "see it elsewhere" instead of just answering the question. This from the man who put together a whole website simply to get the Panthers logo on the field...

If Pep were really taking plays off one would think that the players would be giving him h*ll. I'm watching how his team mates are responding on this to gauge what is really going on. I can't think of a better way to measure this.

From what I can tell, the idea of him taking off plays seems to be greatly exagerated.

So if he isnt taking plays off then he must suck because he got manhandled acouple times by players not as good as him. Last year teams hardly tried to double team him.

No player is going to dominate 100% of the time. These big guys get out of breath from time to time. I mean, if you are saying that he only got manhandled a couple of times...that's not bad IMO.

Listen to what I'm saying...if Pep is really throwing defensive plays because he is not giving it a 100% the team will see that and you can bet that there will be "words" in the locker room.

Granted, but I can't really recall guys like Charles Haley and Reggie White being shut out by backup tackles either.

Seriously, if Pep is willingly taking off plays then he is toast. That means that the players and the staff all see it.

How much did he take off, was he sick, was he just having a bad day, was he told to stay in a ZD, did the play break down...these are all things I don't know.

What I'm saying, is that I'm not going to trash him non-stop on mere guesses and innuendo.

Even that could happen every now and then, but Pep had a bunch of games against backups this year and IMO didn't take advantage of that situation as much as you would expect a guy of his talent level to do.

The more I go over the game tape in my head  I think Peps biggest problem is he lacks technique. All the guys we mention as being elite D-linemen had at least one strong weapon, either a strong club, rip, swim, or spin. LT had it all...

Pep seems to engage and try to push his way to the ball, this often stands him up and he appears to quit, also leads to him getting held a lot. Eh what do I know, anyone ever remember seeing Pep make an awesome move and leave a tackle grasping for air?

These are the kind of statements that I can agree with. Yeah, Pep had some bad days and may have not given all he had on occasion. I'm saying, if that is true, there is locker room justice.

The statements of some posters on here though, basically saying that he is not worth spit are exagerated IMHO.

    • Yeah, I could jump right into the unbelievable Bryce debate now that some people are trying to flip the script because Bryce Young has, at most, a handful of decent games as a pro, but that's going to work itself out. Suffice it to say that I've seen better QBs (with an s) in a Panthers uniform, and I've certainly seen better QBs be drafted while we're playing around with Bryce, one of them who beat the crap out of us already this season... Let's forget about Bryce (and his markedly underwhelming play since he's been here); I think that most sane fans will agree that drafting him was an error, but it happens. Sure, it doesn't happen to the tune of King's ransom---including your main receiver---but it happens. You bet, you lose. Speaking of receivers...and betting and losing... Oh, man, we drafted Xavier Legette. Yes, just like with Bryce, I've entered "the dark side." Some Huddlers were telling us from the beginning, and they were right. But, I'm not apologizing for waiting to see what a guy's got before making my decision on him. X was a one-year wonder at South Carolina who parlayed some really nice production that season, a great personality and thick country accent, into becoming a first round pick (but only in Carolina). For Dan Morgan and company, He was a big swing that has turned into a big whiff (and I can still feel the ill breeze from that one). Sh¡t happens, right? Well, not so fast. Ladd McConkey was the decidedly more polished receiver who was literally ready to hit the ground running as soon as stepping onto the field as a pro. Ladd was never the biggest guy (though not the smallest), but he was the guy that could run routes, always seemed to get open---no question---and had the same speed as X, but with legit quickness and nuanced shake and bake. But Dan chose the project. He chose the guy where the game speed looks more like a tractor trailer than a 5.0 mustang. Look, I've supported X (just like Bryce) many many a day, but no more. Now I'm not saying that I won't root for the guy. Just like with Bryce, he seems like a great kid. But as far as giving excuses for the kid, and, perhaps more importantly, waiting for some miraculous breakout, I'm done with that. I've seen enough. You don't draft a project for a project. And yes, Bryce had proven to be a project after his first season. In my mind, drafting a supposedly number one receiver that needs lots of development for a starting quarterback that needs immediate help to try and further his development is not going to lead to good things. Pick the surest guy. Or at least pick the one who appears to be the surest guy, because picking can be tricky... especially when you're too busy tricking yourself.
    • Winning ain't gonna make my eyes lie to me. Context matters, and it will always matter in the game of football.
    • That TD pass to Legette against Miami. Elite. The play where Bryce rolls right to buy time until Tet can reverse field.  Bryce pumps as multiple defenders close in.  He barely gets it away before he takes a big time hit.  Beautiful off platform throw and great catch by Tet.   The second TD to Tet against Dallas where Bryce dips and turns his shoulder in to evade the pass rusher.  Resets and finds Tet in the end zone. Dude embodies the Keep Pounding mantra.
