we could use an upgrade at WR, but it isn't the priority that bringing in a DT and CB are. i'd put it about on the level with RG or maybe a bit lower.

if they trade smith, that all changes, but i don't see that happening.

we got to take care of the bigger needs first. i doubt we have the money left over after DT and CB.

is CB that big of a need? I would think WR is up there too in needs

absolutely...esp. if we aren't keeping marshall around. we need someone proven and solid starting on the other side of gamble, preferably someone who can handle the slot.

if smith is here, we have enough talent in the receiving corps to be competent...thats including lafell and gettis with a year under their belts, shockey and rosario, and the williams/goodson/stewart combo.

it could be much better, but it has been much worse. CB and DT are much bigger needs.

    • https://www.profootballnetwork.com/patriots-trade-deadline-rumors-5-deals-before-nov-4/ Move 3: Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers Trade Details: > Patriots receive: Chuba Hubbard and 2026 seventh-round pick > Panthers receive: 2026 fourth-round pick New England needs more from their backfield. Rhamondre Stevenson has struggled throughout the season, and while TreVeyon Henderson has flashed, he has not yet earned the trust to be a consistent focal point, lacking proper snaps for a lead back. The Patriots have had to lean on Maye’s arm more heavily than ideal, and adding a runner capable of producing efficient yardage would give the offense better balance.
    • There aren't 32 legitimate starting caliber QBs in the league. Just like when we were starting Bell and Chandler at OT, did that make them legit "starters"? I mean, technically I guess it did since they were indeed starting but they sure as hell weren't starting caliber players. If you have the 30th best starting QB in the league, you desperately need a starting QB and there's likely backups on other rosters better than your starter just like there were better backup OTs on other rosters than Bell and Chandler.
    • Name a QB as bad as Bryce who had their 5th picked up?  You certainly can name better ones who didn't have it picked up.
