Interesting Future WR Prospect

Anyway, this thread is really about Pryor as a project WR. Sorry, we already are doing that. I would rather have a true WR than a converted QB turned WR, and I am sure I am not alone.

i agree and your arent alone. i want Pryor on a team where he will at least be tried at with being a QB. in other words, Washington is the first team i want him on, then Miami, Buffalo, San Fran, Indy and Oakland in that order. he should go to a team where he will at least be tried as a QB and trained as one.

sure but if we can get a guy now for a 5th and train him over a season we could use that pick on a CB/DT

Switching a guy who played QB all his career isnt going to take a season, it could take 2 seasons, in other words he wouldnt see the field often in 2012 either if the panthers have him converted to WR, i think he can play QB if trained up and had good coaching. ADD to that, we need a WR that is ready to play, one that can be used at least next year, i dont think Pryor will be ready next year.

Some people here are jOking about getting Pryor, but in all honesty ^He makes perfect sense to me. He's Cam version 2.0.

Same type of QB, so naturally if Cam were to go down, we wouldn't have to change gameplans like we would if Jimmy were to step in...

Plus ^He would have been a 1st rounder next year... Hate him or love him ^He was going to go in the first even with the 5 games out...

Would be a steal, and he's a hell of an athlete!

I also think that Cam's work ethic would give him no choice but to do the same.

I wouldn't be mad if we snatched him up.

I don't think he woulda been a first next year, but yes, he woulda been higher... but TCF, do you think we have the roster room for that kinda developmental project?

I guess maybe but I kinda doubt it...

No, I don't think we have the room. No, I dont think we'll actually take him.

But you have to admit, it would be a good move.

I mean, what's really the difference between the two. Not a whole lot really. I'm sure somebody will pull up stats and size, and arm strength... And I'm sure there are some differences. I guess I mean same style QB's.

As for taking in the project...I think Mike Shula would be happy.

I don't see a need for him, and I do NOT see us picking him up. Like I said though, I think it's a good move as far as value. I wouldn't be mad if we could make it happen.

he maybe like Newton, but he doesnt make sense, he's a project at WR and QB and he will in time want to start and i think he can start, plus if you draft him and Newton struggled the fans will call for Pryor. As for being a first rounder next year, NO. If he would've not been able to go to the Supplemental draft he would've missed a full year of football and would not be a first rounder. and i would be upset to get him, i want him on a team with a vet and no future at QB, like Miami, Washington, buffalo. a team that can use him in the future. and i do NOT want him at WR, the panthers need a more proven WR, a guy like Mark Clayton, i would see if he's healthy and if he is sign him.

I don't care what position he plays. The kid is an athlete. He can make plays at wr or qb. He does have first round "talent". Not at QB,but ability to be a play maker. I'd throw a 5th rounder at this kid anyday of the week. Its hard to find a player with this much talent in the 5th round anyway.

he's not a first round pick, he has the talent, but he's a project. i dont think Carolina should draft him, he wouldnt be on a 2nd stringer until his 2nd year and would struggle.

    • No need to explain everyone on here ‘drunk posts’ watching this team …who could blame anyone  when they were mentioned in the same breath as the Jets and Browns onward and upward as far as bryce’s little fella self, can take them
    • Sigh, we should of have kept Ashawn over this bum.
    • Well, everyone is a critic.  not much meat on the bone here in analysis but if the team needs motivation … lol   I have also heard a lot of talking head or two say that ‘Young is not in the same class as most of these teams and that in 12 of the 17 games he is the lesser QB   BR write up below  2025 record: 8-9 Last season, the Carolina Panthers made the playoffs for the first time since 2017. They won the division. Bryce Young made strides, throwing for 3,011 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions with a 63.6 percent completion rate. Wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan won the 2025 Offensive Rookie of the Year award. In free agency, the Panthers signed edge-rusher Jaelan Phillips and linebacker Devin Lloyd to bolster their middling defense. Carolina can win with complementary football if the offense continues to trend in the right direction. In 2026, Carolina will play the AFC North and NFC North on a first-place schedule, which includes matchups against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, and the Seattle Seahawks. The club will have a much tougher 17-game slate than it had last year, which may lead to regression. The Panthers aren't on the same level as the league's top teams. We'll see the gap between them and division-winning clubs from the previous season. 2026 projection: 6-11
