3100 yards rushing at 5 ypc and 22 touchdowns in his first 2 nfl seasons with nothing resembling a passing game to take pressure off of him and ever defense specifically trying to shut him down.

yeah he's fuging overrated as hell

You know Fiz, whatever. When I posted my opinion I didn't directly or indirectly try to insult something you posted or something you were debating with someone else. If you don't agree with my opinions, fine. But damn, chill. I've told you that I respect your opinion, and I do, and tried to presently state my case. I've not acted like that dumbass Phil Dess but yet you've attacked my posts no differently than you did his.

So go ahead and continue to share with others your great and all knowing knowledge of football. Excuse me though as I will choose to leave the conversation.

A guy can still be a top player and be overrated. Many people say that AP is the best RB in the NFL, so people who disagree with that statement think he's overrated. That doesn't mean they don't think he's one of the best. However, you have to consider that the guy has 13 fumbles in two seasons. Sorry, unlike the idiots on ESPN, I'm not gonna sugarcoat those fumbles by saying it's because he goes all out on every play.

There are other RBs who could put up numbers similar to AP, if given equal blocking and carries. Just look at our own D Will. He had double the TDs of AP with 100+ fewer carries.

i mean i agree with that sentiment, but I think saying someone "isn't number one but he's top three" is more semantics than being legitimately overrated. i mean it's not like he's michael turner whos stats just disintegrate under scrutiny.

the fumbles are disconcerting, but he's been the most productive back in the nfl over the past two seasons. for example, what runningback who would you take over him for the past two seasons?

a few. not many. and let's not pretend that the vikings blocking is something it's not. hutch is obviously one of the best at his position, but birk was decaying for years and was just released, the entire right side of their line is replaceable, and bryant mckinnie is just okay.

Just look at our own D Will. He had double the TDs of AP with 100+ fewer carries.

you know i love dwill as much as anyone, and yes i think he's just as good as any running back, but let's put what he did this year into perspective a little bit. statistically he had the best second half of the season EVER for a running back. I'm going to make a long effortish post about this some time in the near future.

also, you have to attribute at least some of it to the offensive line, which i also think is probably the best in the nfl. for example, stewart had very comparable numbers, which have to be at least in part due to the line he was running behind.

I'm pretty sure that I've encountered many Panther fans who took him as more than that. There are people who lamented the fact that he never made a Pro Bowl.

next time you see them slap them in the face for me and say "that was from fiz"

This is the only thing you stated that I disagree with. No RB can put up great numbers in the NFL without good blocking. Besides Hutch and McKinnie, they also have Jim Kleinsasser, who's one of the best run blocking TEs in the game. Also, are you sure Birk was cut? I thought he was just a FA. He signed with the Ravens but the Vikings did make a concerted effort to keep him by offering similar money.

you just need good, not great. the vikings blocking is good. the panthers is great.

hell, barry sanders didn't even need linemen

yeah, i mistyped that, they let him walk.

i mean they offered him a contract, but considering he signed for 12 mil over 3 years, they couldn't have offered him much.
