Dalton is not making enough money to matter in terms of the cap. His max pay on this deal is in 2026 at a paltry $5.8 mil. There is no reason to create another problem here. We have enough of them already. -
No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early. As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts. Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here. He doesn’t really check any box. No young potential. Can’t step in and win. And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad -

I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
