A QB Comparison

So I guess you just don't know what an NFL project is.

Armanti was a project. Kaepernick is a project. Pryor is a project.

Suh was not a project.

AJ Green is not a project.

They might need improvement, but they are not projects. Not by any stretch of the word.

Project - An undertaking requiring concerted effort to achieve a goal. Of course, there is the media definition which is what you are referring to, but every NFL rookie is a project, some just require greater effort or more work than others. Fwiw, I first heard that said on a NFL broadcast a few years ago. Some excoach said it.

That means every NFL player who has never won a superbowl is a project.

Every NFL player who isn't in the Hall of Fame is a project.

Come on man, face it, Cam is nothing like Manning.

Cam is nothing like Luck.

Cam was a high risk high reward project and we took a risk.

It's that simple.

Thats a team project, not an individual one. :)

And yes, I agree that Cam was a greater risk than Peyton Manning, although hindsight helps that view a lot. But I stand buy what I said. Every NFL quarterback is a project, and a high risk/high reward.

Can you at least admit they are not all the same levels of project and same levels of risk?

Yes, although some forget that some people thought Manning was a greater risk than Ryan Leaf in 1998. Given how many times the "experts" are wrong, any estimation of the future of a particular qb seems to be a lot of guesswork.

Fwiw, watching Newton, I am less concerned about him now than I was when we picked him. He needs to fix his mechanics, but I can see some potential to be good in a year or two.
