Cam we really be NFC South Leaders after this week?

I think that we can and will be. Here's why.

The Saints play an emotional Bears defense on Sunday that completely SHUT DOWN the Falcons. If Cutler can string together another game like last week, I believe that the Saints will start out 0-2 this season. No way that the Bears Defense will lose this game for Urlacher.

The Falcons will host the "Dream team" on Sunday, and with their corners, all The Eagles will have to do is play Nickel the whole game and easily come out with another win. While it's almost impossible to shut down Ryan and company two weeks in a row, if there's a secondary out there than can do it, It's the Eagles'. Falcons start off 0-2

The Bucs will travel to Minnesota on Sunday. This seems like the most likely team this week to emerge victorious. However, I cant really see McNabb having another atrocious game in consecutive weeks. The Chargers barely beat the Vikings in week one, and they're considered a Power in the AFC along with others. I think that the bucs can win but wont pull it out. Bucs start 0-2

On to Us...The Packers come to BOA on Sunday as the defending Champs. Most signs point to a Carolina loss. I will obviously be breaking this game down a little more for obvious reasons:

First the Packers defense:

I watched their game twice (opener/NFL replay) and I watched our game 3 times.

If there is a weakness on the Packers defense, it is definitely their secondary. Sure they have Woodson, but look at what the Saints Offense did to them late in the game. What makes it even worse is the fact that they KNEW Breezy would be airing it out. Still he lead them back and almost tied the game.

Packers Offense:

Aaron Rodgers (whom I hate with a passion) was playing lights out! Accurate and mobile he will be more than a handful for our defense. He has MULTIPLE weapons to throw to, and will do so with ease. For shits and giggles lets assume that Gamble Shuts Down Gregg Jennings. They still have great WR's in Donald Driver, Jordy Nelson, and the promising rookie Randall Cobb. Let's not even mention Jermichael Finley (who will probably hurt us the most in Beason's absence.) If I'm the D-Coordinator I'd have Thomas Davis shadow him the whole game. Their running game isnt anything to write home about but with our DT's it will still be effective. Bottom line is they are potent (which everybody already knows)

on to the Panthers Defense:

We don't match up well with their Receivers at all. Aaron Rodgers will have to have a bad day for us to pull it out. We will mix up the blitzes and have to have PRESSURE from our front to even have a chance. We have some young guys out there that can make names for themselves this week if they can capitalize on hurrying the QB. Dan Connor's presence in the Middle will be solid. My concern is that they will exploit his pass coverage deficiencies. Maybe Connor can make a play that nobody expects? Bottom line- If we can hit Rodgers early and often then we have a chance to win this game by rattling his cage and making him throw errant passes. If he has time, watch out cause it's gonna get ugly and fast.

Panthers Offense: (How crazy is it that this is our STRENGTH now!?)

We will have to establish the running game at some point in this game. This will be a very difficult task with BJ Raji in at DT. This guy is simply not human. We will have to run off tackle with DeAngelo and tosses to be effective, which may sound counter-intuitive if you consider how fast their LB's are. I think our best run game this week will be making Raji and co over pursue and maybe have success with delayed hand off's or maybe even screens. Ultimately I think that we will have to be efficient through the air this week.

Cam will have to be spectacular again on Sunday which I think he will be. Like I pointed out earlier, their secondary is their weakness. We will have to exploit it. I expect us to open up the playing field by going to our TE's early and often. This will set up the run and possible big plays to Smitty. I also expect Cam to run more in this game. I know he's making a point to stay in the pocket to prove the nay sayers wrong but I think he will have to be a little more mobile to open up the game as well. Forcing Matthews to spy him all game would be ideal for us. Will open up Tight ends. If they blitz a lot start running screens and quick outs. I wouldn't be surprised to see some trickery either.

Bottom line: This team is very beatable! We have in my estimation, one of the MOST Potent offenses in the NFL. RB's, TE's are arguable the best tandems in the league. I expect to see great things from this offense on Sunday. If and when Cam goes off on Sunday, nobody in the country will be able to legitly talk poo about Cam any longer! If we beat the Packers on Sunday there is NO reason that we shouldn't expect the playoffs THIS season! It would be the Surprise game of the week. We have a lot of great reasons to be excited about on this team. If we can stay with them points-wise we can win it late. We have to force turn overs and take care of the ball ourselves. Minimize penalties, and play smart. (common football knowledge) These panthers are for real, I dont know about you guys but I cant accept another "moral" victory. I will if need be, but I think they can get it done and with style. The Carolina Panthers will send shockwaves throughout the NFL this weekend. Panthers 1-1 Sole posession of 1st place in the NFC South

Sorry this was so long... if you dont like it :dita:

Go Panthers!

So the Bucs won't beat the Vikings because the Chargers barely did, but we will beat the Packers after losing to the Cardinals. Your logic makes no sense.

Is your life that horrible, that everything you say is negative!? I've been in this board for 5 months and I have never read a positive post by you. It's always something negative. Lighten up dude, if u can't be positive about this team now, you will never be positive at all. This is the mist promising looking team that we have EVER had! Stop being such a negative Nancy and start contributing in a positive way. Or just keep being you. You don't effect me either way. It's just sad to see someone be so miserable that it translates to their online discussions. You can de-rail the thread but u can't take away the op, or the obvious logic that it explains.

 So because you don't use logic I'm miserable? I never said we can't or won't win, you just don't make any sense. How is it logic that the Bucs can't beat the Vikings just because the Chargers barely did but we will beat the Packers after losing to the Cards? There is no logic anywhere in that. The Bucs stand just a good a change as we do.

    • Brah, get in we are going down Cookers injury history- 2024- hamstring injury that had a effect on his combine and pro-day= UDFA gem. panthers bought him and he rehabbed during mini. During TC he missed time with quad(future incoming here). Panthers CUT him, how?? why did they?? You have to agree one of the reasons was injury. Hes on PS for couple weeks and now on the 53. Around week 10 he goes on IR with quad.... makes it back and gives hope he's ready for 2025. 2025- He shows up in Benij shape, gets another quad injury. Adam take allllll the WRs and BY to one of Minnesotas' 10,000 lakes. No Coker, team upset and lays out a workout plan.( He follows it. )Steve Smith releases a 10 min rap beef video calling out how lazy and unprofessional Cooker is. Time passes- Panthers trade Adam with the hope Coker can take some of the reps, he gets another quad injury and hurts the Panthers plan. 6 IR weeks later he comes back, he's fresh legged and others are six weeks in. Playoffs he has a all-timer game.  So if you want to get detailed about it, there they are. He missed 3 games in 2024 (bye adds another week)due to injury and 3 games being Cut for reasons that may or did include his leg being hurt. 2025 he shows up in Benj-shape and has another mini, OTAs, and TC of rehabbing mixed with live reps. Then two days after the Adam trade, he re-injuries his troubled quad and sits on IR for 6 games.  We can or you can discuss the reasons for him being cut and determine if his injury issues were part of it or not. The main point in all this to to show their are some issues if the team is counting on Coker, as shown above and they are not just quad ones.  Hammer-time..... so for the 42nd time Im telling all who want to talk panthers and what could be in the future plans, watch out for the Matt Millen special........ cause WR is on the menu and it should be given the Panthers are one repeating quad issue from starting David fing Moore or who knows I still have a little hope XL shows up and can be a legit #2....

    • I thought Dillion was at least 32. If he is healthy then he will definitely make the 53.
