Glad Cam went against an elite defense early on.........and my take

This means he will not be fazed by Saints and Falcons defense, he'll be able to go back on today's tape and make less mistakes. A loss is bad, but many people didn't even think this game would be close.

Positives:

My God Johnson is worth every penny, talk about getting pressure from everywhere

Mcclain and Fua did an excellent job getting push

Davis is back!!! #thisisall

Newton never gives up, he wanted a win but sadly we were unable to deliver.

Lafell is really stepping up and is making a statement for the No.2 receiver spot.

Gamble is also back, we are now seeing the Gamble we saw 3 years ago

Munnerlyn may be short, but man does he fight.

Very good pass protection by the offensive line with Otah missing.

Negatives:

No running game. Wasn't worried the first game, but I'm getting very worried hopefully Chud can adjust

Pugh showed a lot of promise during the preseason, but now he is getting beat a lot and usually he's not getting beat for 10 yard plays, more like 30 yard plays that can shift momentum.

Cam has to be patient and throw it away, sometimes running is not the best option

Smith's mind was in another place.

Princess Naane needs to be demoted, I'd rather Armanti than him.

Let's rebound and whop the LA/Jacksonville Jaguars ass! ;)

    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
    • They will still be a playoff team but they aren't contenders anymore IMO. They won't be able to spend like they have when they went to a SB and proved he couldn't carry a win at that level with a really good team around him. Now he is going to have to do it with less to spend around him. They just locked in to being a playoff bound team that's going to be a known speed bump for whoever will represent the NFC in the SB.
    • Hmm. I think he'll live up to it. Last year, about half of his team was on IR it seems, at one time or another. Year before, Super Bowl appearance. Year before that, playoff run after being third on the depth chart and being pressed into service. Is he one of the greatest in the game right now? Nope. No chance of that. Is he in the top 10 going into next season? Pretty good chance of that.  Would 20 or more teams in this league love to have the guy as their starting QB. Most likely so. He's a good QB who can implement his coach's game plan to a T and has both the confidence of and confidence in his teammates. That'll take you a long way in this league if you've got the right cast around you, and he does.
