...and for the record, put me down as the forum's NUMBER ONE fan of second round draft picks. I say they are generally the best deals for the money. You're still getting a top notch draftee, but at an exponentially lower salary than a first rounder.

I think its a great deal. We would get the 2nd pick in the 2nd round (not have to pay some rook 25+million)

and then the Peppers to Denver trade talks will die, resulting in all the cutler nut huggers STFU

I don't know, I just feel that even a high second rounder would be a rip-off. Throw in Ty Warren in addition to the second rounder and DT looks a little less bleak and this deal looks a little bit sweeter.

So all those people (me included) that were saying that the Patriots sold Cassel and Vrabel too cheap to the Chiefs were really talking about the Panthers because the guy that wrote that article made it sound like the deal for Peppers has been in the works since before that trade was made.

I'm cool with it though... that 34th pick is still a high pick and we lose Pep's huge salary and can (hopefully) get a good player for a much lower salary than a first rounder.

Just because they took one is the ass (from KC) doesn't mean we have too. The offer of a second rd. pk. is a nice starting point. Don't get me wrong.....I want JP gone as much as the next guy but, we're going to get compensated.
