Summing up the Huddle's attitude towards this team.....

I'd expect that from a coach or a press conference. Yeah they're positive about that.

But they're not positive about winning each and every game. They're not positive about staying in the playoff race. They're not positive about us having a chance to do anything this year.

we still have lots of holes on defense. We have no running game and we have lots of injuries. We have a rookie qb and we are rebuilding. We have a bright future ahead of us but we are not a playoff caliber team yet. Optimism is good but blind optimism is idiotic.

You can make this thread when we win a game, and THEN people complain and worry. Until then... you fail.

Oh ok....yeah because that's a really gutsy move. That's what "REAL" fans do, I forgot. And I'm not one.

Real fans apparently never care to actually believe in their team, but it's cool just as long as they watch every game and continue to spew their negativity the entire season. Funny, but I can't really find a difference between that type of fan and hater. They both kind of operate the same way.

Face it: 0-2. This is what it's all about. All of you repeating this mantra about "remaining positive about the team's future" without the guts to actually truly stand behind the team are going to be the sames ones that will be making those "let's cut him, and trade him, and get rid of him" threads if we go 0-3. It's unhealthy to keep your true feelings bottled up, so please stop pretending you're not bothered by the fact we aren't winning, right now, this year. You want this too, and you know it!

If we're 2-0, none of what I'm saying would have been "optimistic". I'm just REALISTIC enough to realize, we could just as easily be 2-0 right now.

Speaking of worrying I thought this was interesting:

"I'd be concerned if we weren't throwing for about 400 yards a game," Rivera said. "I really would be, but since we're converting and making plays downfield and throwing the ball it's just a matter of time. It's going to happen and when it does it should pop. When it does the run game will be solid. I just know it's a matter of time."

For the first time in I don't know how long I find my attitude towards this team and my present outlook to be right in line with the coach's and player's attitudes. And completely against the crowd.

I'd be right along with ya'll if our rookie QB didn't have the capability to put up those type of numbers. Since he does, it's blindly pessimistic to count this team out.

Happy Panther thinks going to games and telling everyone around you to hush is being the bestest fan.

I can count on one hand the number of games I have missed over the panthers' 16 seasons. Just because I don't tuck my Jake Delhomme jersey into my cargo shorts and strap a fanny pack on so I can be groped by some untrained peon and basically stared down by everyone in my section for actually cheering and making noise when the defense is on the field doesn't mean I'm not a fan.

Every game I have been to has been a rather unenjoyable experience, win or lose.

Except night games. I'll go to any night game. I'll pay double for those tickets.
