Peppers and Cutler some thoughts

So is Matt Ryan a better QB then Cutler, what about Cassel, what about rodgers, what about freaking Seneca wallace? They all had better QB ratings then Cutler and had better Int ratio's???? Btw FWIW Cutler and Jake had the same Int ratio at 2.9

I was being sarcastic. Pointing out that looking at passing stats alone does not quantify a QBs worth.

It's a know effect that the surgery has....geez....

lol I'm not berating you for having an opinion or anything, sorry if it came off like that. I only make attacks on people who start in on me first. But yes, the first year after tommy john surgery for pitchers, their accuracy and arm strength are all screwy and by the second year they're back to normal. But quarterbacks and pitchers have two different throwing motions. Hence my uncertainty.

I must be on crack with the NFL statisticians then, because despite throwing far fewer passes, Jake threw more balls for 40+ last year than Cutler did. Had more average yards per throw too. Granted, when Jake does it credit goes to the receivers while if Cutler does it he gets all the credit. I know how message board logic works. :)

Prob yards after catch passes...but i do not have time to look

Give me a break dude. Jake's always thrown a decent long ball, don't you remember the ESPN competitions a few years back when he beat out just about everyone, including Manning? He's got a better arm than anyone gives him credit for, but try telling that to a Panthers fan...

Yep pretty much, Cutler Got a lot more yards or .3 yards more per attempt from YAC then Jake did his. Jake also had a .6 advantage per attempt for passing yards that actually occur in the air.

You would expect that to be the other way around, given Cutler's supposed arm strength and the thin air in Denver.

Funny, huh?
