I will hand it to Hurney, he never has problems with the problem children agents. I don't even think they had problems signing Gamble as a rookie when he had the dreaded Postons.

say what you will about rosenhaus being a prick (it's true) but the postons are horrible and shady. you don't hear too much about them anymore but i guess carl poston's 2 year suspension is up.

I'd agree the Postons were worse than Rosenhaus because they were primarily NBA agents. Their perspectives were skewed by the size of the NBA contracts, and they never seemed to quite get that the NFL cap is a hard and fast rule.

Right now though, you could make a pretty good argument for Bus Cook being a bigger prick than Drew Rosenhaus.

Rosenhaus has most certainly been known to capitalize on player discontent, but I can't recall there being evidence that he's actually caused it. Cook, on the other hand, seems to be a little more "active" in the Favre and Cutler situations.

Add in that players regularly flock to Rosenhaus, but Cook is losing business. That's been a theory as to why he's agitating the Cutler situation, because it's the only potential big score he's got this offseason.

bus cook is making that situation much worse. the primary focus of agents are to get as many clients as possible. more clients...more money. the way you get more clients is to get more attention. to get more attention you have to get your clients embroiled in some conflict with their team and get yourself seen as the person trying to get their clients away from their evil teams. if you can make yourself to be a hero for the player then you will have others looking to make you their champion. without drama, none of this is going to happen. this year was going to be a slow one for him so he acted on one of his clients insecurities and created that drama.

no way do i want a player that can be manipulated like that and no way do i want the panthers to deal with an agent like that. there is no security when you have bus cook as an agent for your QB.

    • Moton would be gone by then, Ikey likely on a big deal and it's likely one or both of Lewis and Hunt will be gone due to finances or performance drops.  Mays will likely never see 6-8 mil/year here. He is a backup caliber player and has roughly the same valuation as BC. We should not be either relying on him as a long term starter nor paying him like one, as he is essentially a backup player. An extremely valuable one like BC but not one with a lot of free agency heat, I would imagine(like BC). You can't be paying backup IOL like starters. It's not smart.
    • What makes me think we keep vacillating is that Evero is pretty darn familiar with the offense and defense we just faced.  Think he was keyed in on certain things against his old regime.  Hope I'm wrong here and we can keep rolling.
    • This is the laziest post I've read of your in years.  Bryce has already proven he can throw more than 20 and still play well.  Has he done it consistently? I'm not sure i want any team to have to consistently ask their QB to throw 40 plus times a game. That is not plan for sustained winning.  In order to best the best teams, which often have good offenses, the best game plans, always involve a run heavy game plan.  You have to keep their offense on the side of the field.   You also have to gave the defense do their part.   Cam's MVP season, he was constantly getting short fields because our defense was taking the ball away.  Stop being lazy.  Stop talking down players abilities.
