Any fan that is in Charlotte and hadn't already made the switch when they moved here or when the Panthers came into existence isn't a fan worth having.
meh....whatever.

Don't care why someone becomes a fan. Getting new fans because of Newton....wonderful. Welcome everyone.
yeah...not really seeing the problem. rather have them be panther fans than not.

screw being some kind of elitist snob "i'm a better fan because i was here when we SUCKED!!!!"

we accept you

one of us

gooble gobble.

Some people call them bandwagon fans, some people call them fans that won't put up with crappy play and horrible coaching.

Give me a decent product on the field and I'm all in, even if we're not even good enough to make the playoffs. Give me what we put on the field last year and the year before ... well ... I have better things to do.

We may go 2-14 again this year, but at least people are trying and there's hope for better things down the road.

You guys sit there and act like the panthers are a generational team. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but we are not. A team that is only 16 years old is, by definition, a team that does not even have a 2nd generation of fans. We are not an established team nor do we even have 2 winning seasons in a row. Please do not get me wrong here, I would DIE for my panthers, but all this "omfgbbq your a bandwagon fan shame on you" is just stupid.

16 years ago panthers fans did not exist, because the team did not exist. How many Jacksonville Jaguar fans do you know? Face it, its just a simple side effect of being a recent expansion team. A few decades down the road, when we have a few generations of Panthers fans, and the Panthers have a little more history, then we can start screaming bandwagon fans. But until then, not everyone can be like me and remember going to games in Clemson back on 1995 and at least 6 home games a year since. That is a lubricious and frankly arrogant assumption/requirement for a franchise this young. All fans have to start out as "bandwagon fans." Every single fan starts out as a bandwagon fan at one point in time, even more so with a team this young. If even 20% of these new fans decided to stick with us through our next atrocious season, then the team, city, and organization will all be better off. To sit there on your throne and scoff at this chain of events is just plain stupid, and makes me question either your loyalty to the panthers (maybe acting like a true fan is more important than being a true fan, because to a young team like this any fan is a fan worth having) or your sense of logic. maybe both are screwed.

But what do i know?

ummmm....what do you mean by "You guys"? only one guy in this thread is talking down to "bandwagon" fans. the rest in here are pretty much making it a joke or at the very least don't agree.

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
