/r/nfl trying to say Dalton deserves RoTY over Newton

Lets get this strait I want Cam to be successful because he is our qb. It is obvious that you and a couple of others definitely want him to win for other reasons. If you say that is false you need to read your own threads. This topic has gotten way off subject I'll see you later have a good one.:coolgleamA:

Are u trying to say that some on here want Cam to succeed because he's BLACK...Like is something wrong with that? There are folks who root for Mark Sanchez because he's spanish. Others root for Hines Ward because he's part Asian. People identify and root for their own. Such is life.

I'll take it one further, I want Cam to succeed cause he deserves a chance like any other QB regardless of his skin color, to prove that he can play at the elite level in the NFL...how about that. Shocking..

I've studied him enough and haven't allow the politics of the sports media to influence my view of him. I strongly believe he can really help this team if he doesn't get burnt out before hand do so much.

BTW, I follow and root for my own team, Jets and Giants, but I also root for underdog teams, jut like the Panthers. Would I be following the Panthers if it weren't for Cam, maybe not because I really don't get u in the East Coast and the NFL package is a bit much for me. I am disappointed because I do enjoy watching all the football teams play. But I have been following the games on the net and when they replay on NFLN.

And YES, I love other sports outside of football.

To be honest, you can tell which posters are which race by the way they defend Cam Newton. Footballisasport is a perfect example.

I'm whiter than a marshmallow and I'll defend Cam to anyone, especially against those who say he's not smart enough to excel in a pro offense or other BS crap.

If you could see it for what it is you would at least hear everyone scream that The Golden Calf of Bristol cant throw a ball and he will be an afterthought by seasons end. Thats what I hear everywhere I turn anyway.

I hear the media scream that The Golden Calf of Bristol has something wrong with his arm and because of that he can't throw straight. But honestly, if u sit there and nitpick all these QBs, I'm sure u'd find something to say about their mechanics.

Peyton Manning had his shares of criticism about his mechanics but unlike today, folks weren't turning into endless discussions on the internet and the talking heads didn't spend hours rehashing the issue.

How do u make something that is real OVER. Boy, why are u folks so afraid to deal with what is part of the reality of this country. I simply don't get it.

Race hits close to home with some of these posters. It shapes their outlook on life more than they care to admit publicly. Thats why they always run from the discussion or at the least try to dictate it. You dont have to be a rocket scientist to see it. I just think its sad even with the QB play we've been getting this year we got fans still wanting to paint the grass as greener because they just cant relate to the guy we got out there. They cant see themselves in him. And I think thats important to note, because no matter what I think they can see themselves in an Andy Dalton or a Mallet. They just relate to those guys more and have a more positive view of them. Id say the vast majority of our fans arent like this, but as we see on this board that element DOES exist in our fanbase and always has despite people being a shield to it.

I swear this quote reads like a kid kicking dirt and walk away asking...And ur mother responding...Because it's part of who we are as individuals.

no it really doesn't matter, unless you follow those ridiculous 16th century beliefs like black people have smaller brains than us GLORIOUS WHITE MEN

wow. this thread went south real quick.

i'm black. i wanted dalton in the draft.

i guess i'm racist...or not...or am i?

yes, dalton is in a better position to win than cam....but he could have just as easily been a liabilty to the team, and cost them games. but that's not the case.

cam is putting up terrific numbers, but the margin of error is less for him to make roty because if he has bad games to nullify what he's accomplished...the team still has a losing record.

As I've stated before, when u're comfortable in ur skin, and u accept that life for what it is. Race shouldn't be a weapon nor a shield. But, it is real..

moving on
