First missed home game in 17 seasons

Well, I'm going to miss my first Panthers home game ever this Sunday. It feels weird to say that.

I've been undergoing some treatments for arthritis exacerbated by a fall I took a couple of months ago. The walk to and from the stadium is just too much, and, I have learned from experience, not wise just days after a knee injection. I get my last (?) injection this afternoon, and I have to do everything I can to help this treatment work. That means no undue stress on my knee.

I can't believe that streak is coming to an end. Of course, I'll be watching from home, and hoping that I can be there next time.

The good news is that I sold our tickets easily for face value ... maybe could have gotten more, but that's not worth the trouble.

My mom had back issues awhile ago, and they let her take the elevators to her seat. I know you sold your tix already, but...in case you change your mind :D

My seats are in the lower bowl. No elevator needed. It's actually getting to and from the stadium from my parking space. I've checked other parking lots, and they're either just as far or uphill.

I know there's a handicapped lot where you park and take a shuttle in, but where they drop off and pick up still is a good walk to my seats.

I want to go to a game with excitement and anticipation, but right now, all I can think of is the pain I feel when I'm walking, and it makes me dread the trip.

The other good news is that if this treatment works, I have the prospect of being pain-free for months or even years. If it does work on this knee, I'm getting it done on the other one. I don't remember when I haven't had pain, honestly. I've gotten so used to it, but the fall I took just threw everything for a loop. I'd almost rather have broken something that could be "fixed."

Sorry to here you can't make it but I hope you sold the tickets to Panther fans.

I'm pretty sure they are, but I sold them through the guy who has the seats next to ours. It's a friend/colleague of his. I guess I just assumed he's a Panthers fan, too.

It's a sure bet no Panthers fan on this board would have paid me face value for them, though.
