Interesting Statistic

Although we are excelling at passing week in and week out the running game has been somewhat lackluster... Or so I thought. It has picked up as of late and I was checking out our statistics. We are currently ranked 7th in rushing and we have three players in the top 50 rushers.

#21 DeAngelo Williams - Attempts - 68 / Yards - 337 / Average - 5.0 / TD's - 1

#27 Jonathan Stewart - Attempts - 59 / Yards - 278 / Average - 4.8 / TD's - 1

#29 Cam Newton - Attempts - 57 / Yards - 266 / Average - 4.7 / TD's - 7 / Swag - Infinite / Passing TD's - 8

So keep in mind there are 32 teams in the NFL and we have 3 out of the 32 top rushers on a team who apparently couldn't run the ball.

I'm liking it.

Those stats are somewhat surprising. Especially our RB's. Outside of that DeAngelo run vs the Saints, I can't really remember anything spectacular. Cam however.... I mean.... poo, not even worth trying to put it in words.
Yeah, it snuck up on me as well. I just thought I'd check out the stats and was pleasantly surprised. It's not 1 rusher getting 150 yards but three rushers getting 50 yards a game. I'll take it.

    • There is quote from Canales somewhere when we hired him.  He was blunt he isn't some creative mind.  He was going to come in here and do X......and that was going to be closer to Foxball than anything we have seen.   And that largely has held true.   It's why he REALLY needs that Jake Delhomme type.  Baker was that.  The downfield gunslinger.   Big plays exist in his O.   You need a gambling QB to go make them downfield.  Bryce pulled the trigger once this week.  But he is just bad at it.  It was that Tmac deep ball that ended up being a PI.  Tmac had his dude beat.  That was the homerun ball this O sets up.   But Bryce underthrew it.  Tmac had to slam on the breaks and come to a full stop and wait for it.    Those just aren't Bryce's throws.    Sure we got the PI.  Some might celebrate that aspect.  But that throw highlights Bryce doesn't make those throws well.  Your WR shouldn't have to come to a complete stop and wait....when he has the guy clearly beat for the over the top play.  That's what the entire thing sets up.  Bryce rarely takes the shot.  When he does, it's generally not a great ball.
    • Sorry to hear that man. Keep that chin up, Panthers aren't worth taking up any headspace. You got this
    • Kinda of like when Hurney went on a GM search as a consultant and the best candidate he found was himself, lol!
