Davis...?

showing a 6-3 big LB prospect up against Oregon spread isn't really the best measuring stick. All a player like this needs is good coaching and a good game plan. I think we have that. He's got a lot of fire, but thats what we all love about Smitty, kid just has to learn how to play the right way, and you can teach that. You can't teach somebody is how to even have that attitude.

So I take it your wanting to move Beason to OLB to play the weakside for a rookie? Vontaze's not fast enough nor does he have the hip movement to play OLB in the NFL in a 4-3. Maybe and this is a stretch and a pretty damn big one at that, he could play SLB. We need a WLB and Brown is the one of the most explosive play makers in the draft on defense at a position of need.

We can agree to disagree. I really don't know what the kid can do at the next level, but I see the tape and I believe he has all of the tools. He needs some polish, but its not like he's a project. I would never move Beason for any other LB we could possibly add in anyway. But this guy is plenty athletic enough to play the OLB the way we play them.

You know we could draft Brown and I'd be optimistic about it though. I just prefer explosive power in this defense at that position. Especially when you have guys like Beason and Anderson. We need a big bruiser stud to lay down the punishment. This guy is quick, fast and very powerful.

I'm not saying he's not talented, but he's definitely more of an ILB then OLB. There's a chance he could play SLB but he's not a WLB. That would mean moving Anderson over to the WLB spot. The starting LB's would be Anderson, Beason, Burfict. I don't have an issue with that if he takes care of his issues mentally. I just like Brown more so, he's just as much of a freak. Able to run a 4.4 and he has the frame to add 10 pounds of muscle at 6-2 232 or so.

You would absolutely have to move Anderson to WLB. Burfict is already 250 and younger than Brown is at his absolute heaviest, and also being able to play with that track speed, 240. He would be James Anderson. Burfict on the other hand, can be that nasty heavy hitting explosive LB we all hoped T Davis could be. If its not Burfict, I want to see a big explosive backer here, because we are going to need someone to fill this role in this defense. You just got to have that heavy hitting size jamming the strong side of the LOS..
