Do you prefer a W next week or the #1 Overall Pick?

It's too bad Cleveland isn't waffling on their QB. If Mccoy had stunk it up enough, they'd be a great trade partner since they have 2 #1s this year.

they definitely are

mccoy hasn't really shown anything and I've heard rumblings that they're not 100% sold on him

plus, if they had a chance to get Luck no chance they say "pass, we got McCoy lulz"

unfortunately they will probably be picking in the #8-15 range and the Falcons pick will be a low/mid 20s more than likely. I think if we somehow get #1 the most likely trade option is one where we only drop two or three spots at most.

yeah it's not gonna happen though.

Seattle, Miami, Indy, Washington are the teams I think could be looking to move up depending on where they are picking. Only Indy is really guaranteed to be top 5 by the end of the season. There are a crop of teams who have selected a qb first in one of the last two years (St Louis, Minnesota, Jacksonville) that could very well share the top 5 with us and Indy. So it could be a very interesting draft...

A lot can change though. Still early to talk about draft order.

As well as who might be available in the draft. Kalil and Barkley could stay at USC just for a shot at a bowl game.

Cleveland may only win 1 more game this year. I am kinda thinking they would be picking in the top 10 still. But I don't know that they would be willing to give up the picks to get Luck because even if they aren't sold on Mccoy they may think they'd be better off building around him this year or seeing what QB falls to 8, because there will be a QB there.

if they do any pick but #1 likely becomes untradeable for us, putting us in a pooty situation... but I'm sure someone will emerge through the rest of the season that will be worth taking at #2/#3.

With all these glib answers, not sure what to think. Personally, I would love the #1 pick. I just do not want to have to lose to get it. I would rather play hard and see what happens, than to suck for Luck.

IMO, Kalil would go a long way to solidifying our O-line, which is a priority for the O we want to run. Plus with the rookie scale, he would not break the bank.

But, I have to admit that getting the #1 pick, and then raping some team for draft picks, has a certain appeal to me. As I have stated before, we need to upgrade at least five positions to be competitive, adding additional draft picks would only help in that area.

The truth of the matter is, Cam and this team need to learn to win. So I am not willing to handicap that, with "What ifs". We will get to where we want to go eventually. Having the #1 pick may not make that journey any shorter, because draft picks do not guarantee wins. I do believe in building through the draft, and with the way things are going our draft position is going to be rather good anyway.

Last year the Lions were 2-10 before winning their last 4 games. Look how this year has worked out for them. We are not that dissimilar to them at this time, so let us not get carried away with what our plan is. Build through the draft and keep improving. In the very near future we are going to be a team to be feared.

If you cannot see the light, my giddy cannot help you. And GOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!

we'd still have an elite prospect to take(Blackmon)

doesn't fill a big need but he'd be the best player available.

I would actually be a bit disappointed if we went WR at #2 or #3, but yeah. He may end up being BPA.

I dunno though, for some reason I am just not as sold on Blackmon as others. I do like him, he is exciting, but I just don't get the same feel from him others do.
