NFLN Proclaims Newton The Greatest Rookie Ever

Not really debating what you said, but just adding some footnotes.

I think its quite fitting for one of the greatest college prospects having to be the encore or the punchline of what most are now considering the greatest rookie season ever. Especially given the history of the Panthers and the pursuit of Luck.

they'll be comparing his rookie season next year to cam's

Nobody is butt hurt here son. Come this weekend i'll watch my guy Dalton play his way into the playoffs (if he can) against one of the best defenses in football. Andy has had an amazing season both in stats and wins. While your boy Cam will be playing for.....what exactly? Maybe next year.

Rookie of the Year is an award given to an individual. Wins are not the stats of an individual. This is the same argument people used to cover up The Golden Calf of Bristol's problems. Now it's being used to supplement the lesser accomplishments of Dalton when compared to Newton.

Last I looked there's 53 guys on a team. Teams make playoffs, not players as individuals.

Nobody here is saying Dalton hasn't had a good rookie season. However, Cam's has been one of the best rookie seasons ever. It's not even debatable. no matter how many times you want to downplay Cam's achievements by throwing a playoff card out there.

    • Predictions from the Observer writers  i am sad   I wish the Panthers had one, just one, game changing hero on their roster …one player that isnt ok with losing …there aren't any Steves,, Lukes,  Cams, Thomas’ on this roster    When  a team has a roster and there isn't one jersey that sells, there arent any heroes if there are, today is a good day to show up   From the Oberser  Fowler: Packers 30, Panthers 20. Carolina will hang around for a while for this one, but the Packers — a legitimate Super Bowl threat — have just too much firepower. Kaye: Packers 31, Panthers 20. Green Bay feels like one of the true Super Bowl contenders in the NFC. The Packers’ offense is dynamic and the defense continues to improve. With a banged up O-line and an unpredictable defense, I’m not sure it matters who is at QB for the Panthers on Sunday. The Packers should win at home in convincing fashion. Zietlow: Packers 35, Panthers 28. I predicted last week that the Bills would win in lopsided fashion. They were coming off a two-game losing streak followed by a bye. The Panthers, conversely, were due for a regression after three great weeks. This week, after refocusing, I think the Panthers will put up a strong performance. I also think Rico Dowdle will get the majority of the carries and that the defense will play much better against the run. The Packers will still win, but the Panthers will leave Lambeau with their heads held high.
