1. Would he be an upgrade from Naanee? and 2. How cheap can you get him for now?

1- significant upgrade imo

2- He had a 1 yr $1 Million dollar deal with a $2.4 Million bonus if he tallied 90 catches and made the Pro Bowl. Not too expensive imo.

Plus he has a "name", which means opponents would respect him on the field. I say try to give him one year this offseason just like you did with Shockey, and see if he can behave.

If the Panthers pay Shockey with a new contract, that might make them more appealing for someone like Edwards that's trying to resurrect a career, lol.

^ I agree. Not saying Braylon should be our 1st choice WR to bring in but he should be considered.

Btw I love Naanee, he blocks & does all the little things well but when it comes the catching the ball(his job), he kinda sucks... yeah he's gotten better but he just moved from bad to ok.

To me our receivers are Smitty(fantastic), Gettis(potentially explosive), Lafell(has potential to be really good).

If we get another guy, like Braylon, who could go deep, we can move Steve more freely around the field.(like playing more in the slot)

Having 4 really good receivers along with 2 security blanket TEs would complete our offense along with double trouble.

ps. I would prefer/love a receiver who could return punts as AE is awful.

I don't know why that is such a shock. We have no idea how Gettis will do when he gets back, and when he was a rookie, practically half his yards and TD's came against the 49ers, who had the worst secondary in the league. I hope he comes back and tears it up and runs 9's all day so Cam can air it out like Madden, but there are a lot of people here who have the guy on a pedestal and I don't understand it.

      I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.

      Woukd be a great addition You know the issues from my prespective, 2 things the Panthers must do 1. Edge or pass rushers or 2 oline or 3 oline or as Andy Reid says, when in doubt, draft a lineman it is time   That oline is troubling plus a small person at QB  they   1. Can do a lot better than mayes at center, 2. and lewis has had injuries all season. 3. Moton should not have  been resigned long term, 4. corbett is a shadow and will probably be released  5 and Christianson coming off Achilles   6 and the kicker, would be Ickey’s contract if they decide to keep him INMO rookie and contracts will be needed to offset all that
