Whats the worst timing you've left a company with?

I am in the process of getting the paperwork done on a new position. I plan on giving 3 weeks notice to my current employer.

Anywho they have lined up a poo ton of projects for me over the next few months and will not have anyone with the knowledge to complete the work(its a small company) . I know everyone thinks they are irreplaceable, but in my case they are going to be stuck until they find someone with my sweet skillz. I feel kinda bad for them but I cant pass up a 50% raise and growth opportunity

Anyone with advice for the reaction I should expect would be greatly appreciated.

They should understand. If they don't they don't give a f about you and you're better off. Do you think they may try to match the raise?

Thanks. Thats what I was thinking as well.

maybe, but the growth opportunity is a big reason in me leaving too. My job is straight for right now (26) but I'm not trying to do it for the rest of my life. There isnt any significant movement upward at my current company. My boss is the owner...

Just did the exact same thing with my employer I'm leaving tomorrow.

Seriously, worst time of the year for us is about to hit....its already started a little bit.

The hire date for my new job got pushed back so they let me stay here and train the new person in my place.....they are already considering firing her.

poo is about to hit the fan here in like a month.

My boss and co workers tell me every day how much they hate me but are happy for me at the same time but its also my fault everything is going to poo.

Can't wait to get out!

Good for you, Boo. Are you still doing sales?

Yeah, but now I will be affecting my income and earning wayyyyy more commission than I do here. Also doing everything on my own, instead of having to rely on my mgr as a team.

Basically a great opportunity for me. As bad as I feel for everyone here....its time to move on.

Lesson of the day: If you have a position where things need to be done quickly and efficiently and it involves computers, don't hire someone over 45 unless they have proven to you beyond any doubt they can use them!!

Sorry, I know its ageism....but its the truth.

so, yeah Congrats KD....fug everyone else. Its all business. They could close next week and you would be out of a job. Gotta worry about yourself before worrying about the awkwardness.

If they don't want you to work out your notice, they will let you know.

they'll get over it. if they are a good company they'll figure out how to go on without you. If they can't then they don't really need to be in business.

also congrats Boo!

I'm in a similar position. My boss is moving up the ladder in June and if they don't offer me his position I'm leaving too, so they'd lose their top 2 managers in a short time. Oh well fug em!
