new Van Halen

I saw DLR Van Halen in 2007 at TWC arena. They were much better than the first time I saw them (1984 tour), mostly because Roth wasn't so wasted that he held the mic away from his mouth the whole time and you couldn't hear him sing, and the sound was better. Also, he didn't call us "charleston" like he did repeatedly in 1984. :D

I saw VH several times in the early 80s - most notably at the US Festival in CA. DLR was so wasted he literally could not remember any of the lyrics. IIRC that set holds the record for most money paid to a band for a single set of music.

When they opened up their last tour here I was in the nosebleeds and the sound was awful, but the girl I took was impressed enough to lead me out of there early and into the back of her minivan.

I couldn't even make it through the entire song.

Me neither.

I could only make it through 2:10...

start up at 2:30 to listen to Eddie that's enough. Back when.... I thought the lead singer from 3 Non Blondes would have been good for Van Halen.

The "Tatoo" song is a current version of a song that didn't make an album in 1977. Does it sound like "Down in Flames" to any of you hardcore VH fans?

Supposedly this and the new "She's the Woman" cut date back to the late 70's and the entire album will be re-engineered, current versions of old songs they had laying around.

This is not a tour I'd buy advance tickets for because they probably will implode long before it finishes. If you must go, just try to scalp a couple cheap tix, don't drop about $200 on a pair of decent seats only to have DLR and Eddie have yet another pissing match that leads to cancelled dates and a shortened tour...
