Panthers vs. Cowboys MNF

I would like to go on record as proclaiming this as my most-looked-forward-to game of the regular season. I hate the Dallas Cowboys with every ounce of musterable angst, and should we beat them - steamrolling them, or winning with a last second fieldgoal, it makes no difference to me - and embarass them in front of a national audience, I would literally piss myself with joy. Then I would piss on a cowboys fan.

I'm sitting on a computer in the middle of nowhere in northern Thailand and laughing aloud just thinking about it. Nobody here knows why.

QB - Cowboys

HB - Even

WR - Panthers

TE - Cowboys

Oline - Cowboys

Dline - Cowboys

LBs - Cowboys

Secondary - Cowboys

Special Teams - Cowboys

At Dallas.. best hope here, prey that the Bucs knock Romo out week 1.

Are you on crack? I can see QB being even, with a slight edge to Romo (which kills me to say.) But HB even? Were you not watching when Williams and Stewart made your entire defense look like a squad of schoolgirls? Like we'd been doing all season? TE... yeah, cowboys have the advantage there, as well as their Dline. O-line... are you joking? We have one of the best lines in the league. LBs? There's are ok i suppose, but I'd say it's even at best.

The rest of your analysis is pretty decent, but HB and O-line really got me. And I put my money on the cowboys killing TB.

Bleh, don't even bother with LBF. Saying our RBs are even with Dallas just shows he has no idea what he is talking about. Our RBs aren't "even" with any team in the NFL.

As for me, I can't wait for the Dallas game. Will be the one I most look forward to as well.

Jake Delhomme in no way is as good as Tony Romo. Your on crack if you think the guys is even in the same leauge of talent lol...

Williams and Stewart = Jones, Barber, Choice... Dallas could have had similar stats if their hbs were healthy as they had a better defense then Carolina. One good season, doesn't mean that your guys are better then another guys set as a whole. Plus, they have more guys to use. And that entire squad was nearly a second string defense if you didn't notice. But yea, refer to the Falcons dishing up 45 points at home on you guys and showing how bad you play on the road... (27-3) at Tampa... do you not recall your guys rushing for 39 yards on the road against the Bucs aswell and your offense only scoring 3 points?

You guys have a solid run blocking line, thats not going to matter when they force you guys to pass late in the 2nd half and Ware makes Delhomme choke just like in the playoffs... I mean, since we are referring to things of the past in this thread. Which, your QB turning the ball over 6 times vs a mediocre defense is fresher then you guys carving up a worn out, hurt Bucs defense.

Dallas has the edge as they have the best OLB in the leauge (debatable with Harrison but #2 even if so) and they get more sacks, turnovers, and pressure then your linebackers do. Beason is nothing more then a solid tackler as he doesn't ever force fumbles or get sacks. Not discrediting Beason as he's a top MLB.

Yea and the Cowboys might but its at home so I give the edge to the Bucs as both teams will be fresh, plus no Owens to worry about and we broke Jason Witten's ribs last time. So, I'm fine with that. I just look for Tampa to score more on them then the 13-9 loss last season.

But yea, that explains itself in this thread.

Well, what you just said... you were wrong.

Best Halfback in the leauge = Adrian Peterson

Best Running Tandem in the leauge = New York Giants

Best Riser = DeAngelo Williams

The Panthers did have a historical year but it still fell behind the Giants in the end. You can't really say the Panthers had the best running attack in the NFL when it didn't lead out of any group.

But, I'm not speaking any sense here... I guess the Giants didn't have 2 1,000 yard rushers and more rushing yards then Carolina... nor did Adrian Peterson have more rushing yards then DeAngelo Williams when the Vikings constantly had the box stacked on Peterson all year long. But your right man, I don't know anything. Your just a argumentative person.

    • Um, no, just no. Bills, Chiefs, Chargers, Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Eagles, Commanders are 8 teams that it's not even a debate, they aren't trading their QB for Purdy. Patriots, Broncos, Titans, Giants, Bears, Vikings, Falcons are 7 more teams with QBs drafted in the last 2 years that also would rather stick with them than trade for Purdy as they all have more upside than he does. Lions, Packers, Cowboys, Bucs are 4 more that would likely keep their QB's as well, age aside for Goff, Dak, and Baker. Panthers and Colts are two teams in the same situation, QB's who have both struggled and shown flashes to where the teams probably stick with them because they drafted them, but in a re-draft of all QB's, they probably take Purdy over the guy they currently have. Jags, Cardinals, Dolphins, are 3 more with QB's who probably have a higher upside than Purdy but come with their own question marks, so debatable if they'd take Purdy over who they already have. That leaves Jets, Raiders, Steelers, Browns, Saints, Seahawks, and Rams. Rams would take him over Stafford for the future of course, but not for 2025, and I'd think the Seahawks would take him over Darnold, but honestly not sure if they would take him over Milroe at this moment as they really like his potential and have him for 4 years really cheap. That leaves 5 teams that I see who would absolutely take him over their current situation right now, and a handful of others who MIGHT take him over their current guy, a far cry from your 20.
    • Agreed. Also as soon as they received the top pick in the next draft it was over. Bears won that trade. Gave up a top overall pick got one the next year plus pick 9, a couple 2nds, and DJ Moore a proven young WR. Had their 2024 pick from us be in the late teens or later it would be more debatable IMO.
    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
