You mean the defense that ranked 22nd this year and 19th last year in total yards. Really scary!!! St Louis did not have a great defense under Spags.

His reputation is built on 2 years as a DC for the Giants where he had very good talent. Once the talent was gone you can see what happened in St Louis.

Don't get me wrong here. I like him as a coach given he used to work with Jim Johnson in Philly who is a DC I truly admire. But honestly I don't think he is nearly as good as you do and believe we will more than hold our own next year.

Dallas was #31 in PPG in 2010 with Wade Phillips... he joins the Texans and bam, top 5 defense.

Some coaches are better coordinators than head coaches. Simple as that. Spags is a FANTASTIC DC. The Rams were just horrible in every single aspect, and he was in way over his head.

The whole "four defensive ends" thing was Spagnuolo's idea.

Whether that works with what he's got in New Orleans? Unknown.

Well, he has a pretty crappy D-line to work with and I don't really see tons of great d-lineman available. His schemes are good but you can only do so much with average-below average players.

Saints fans who are counting on their offense to just pick up where it left off last year are pretty delusional, considering that they are probably going to lose either Nicks or Colston, and Meachem. Hell, they could lose all 3 since they might have to use the franchise tag on Brees. And, it's not like they'll have a first round pick to address those needs either, since they wasted two picks on a 4th string running back. Spagnuolo though is a good signing, but it's not like he is going to be working with Strahan, Tuck, Osi, Kiwanuaka, etc in NO.
