Sign Lardarius Webb CB/KR/PR (2013 Draft Tender)

Draft

1 - Quinton Coples DE/DT

2 - Lavonte David OLB

4 - Casey Hayward CB

5 - Matt Reynolds OT

6 - Shawn Powell P

7 - D'Anton Lynn FS

I really like Ladarius Green (TE) but feel we have other positions of need to address.

As for the "scat back" I'm relatively clueless as to who we should pick up.

Not sold on Still, Brockers or Kirkpatrick.

1st pick subject to change if Blackmon, Kalil or Claiborne fall.

Trade down scenario with Benglas or Patriots for two first round picks my choice would be Janoris Jenkins and Courtney Upshaw.

I saw a mock draft on footballs future giving us 4 DTs...kinda ridiculous because they played well at the end of the year, but if the coaching staff thinks brockers is an impact player then we should take him. I'm hoping curry falls to our second round pick because I think improving the pass rush is a must

That's why I like Coples with our first pick. He has the ability to be very disruptive against the pass and run.

Apparently he's tearing it up at the senior bowl, if his heart is in it I'd take him

Coples does not love the game. He has trouble self-motivating. Vinny Curry on the other hand LOVES football, and you have to force him to stay away from it. That's the kind of player I want. Those are the players that become great..

That's why I said I want curry with our second pick, he's relentless and mayock was saying how he had unexpected power and held up better against the run than he thought. He did well against mike Adams in 1 on 1 pass rushing and shows that he can do it against good competition

My ideal draft, which I know 99% won't happen, would be to trade down with the Bengals for their two first rounders. Take Brockers and Jenkins in the first, then Dwight Jones in the second. Fourth through sixth round get some combination of OL, OLB, and Ron's coveted scat back (I really like Isaiah Pead and Ronnie Hillman; Chris Rainey would be nice too). In the seventh, I wouldn't mind getting Baker's replacement or just add more depth to the defense (maybe Asa Jackson or Dwight Bentley).

Edit: Actually I think it'd be better if we take either Lavonte David, Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner, or possibly Zach Brown in the second, then take a receiver later like Brian Quick, Tim Benford, Marvin McNutt.

    • I don't think we need to argue over the existence of the drops. Look at the film. Instead of arguing about was this a drop or was that a drop we should be looking at the throws from Bryce and recognizing the fact that there are so many 50/50 balls and passes that receivers have to make physical adjustments to even attempt to haul in. You cannot just put everything on the receiver at all times. For the WR to have success the QB has to be able to more often than not put them in a position to succeed. And we also have to be able to acknowledge when the QB is putting the receiver in jeopardy and that did happen Sunday particularly with Renfrow. I mean even a guy like TMac with his catch radius has faced a challenge hauling in passes from Young. And we're pretty hyped about him. Legette and Sanders I will say have underwhelmed. That's something the head coach needs to sort out. But we still have a really good RB room and we have the highest paid OL for 2025 by a significant margin. Nobody here even necessarily expected Bryce and the team to win many games. They just expected to see competency and something really anything to build on going forward. What we did not want to see was multiple steps back again. And with the investments that have been made there's really no excuse.
    • I firmly believe that ship is sailed.  When he came out for his presser, I literally just watched it thinking how the guys in that locker room feel listening to this same poo every week.  Sure, there are other shitty players on this roster, and definitely some coaches, but when the one guy on the field whose play can make or break your day is consistently atrocious, where they’re doing poo like Dan shows in this breakdown…. Bro, we’re in year 3 and you don’t recognize they’re in zone and a defender is waiting to break on the pass you just stared down for 2 seconds?  And okay, that happens to every QB from time to time, but again, we’re in year 3, and you did it not once, but multiple times in one game.  Somebody else shared in a thread yesterday, I think it was, that the Jags didn’t even run anything exotic.  They didn’t blitz.  They didn’t try to confuse him.  They literally ran zone the majority of the game and rushed 4.  And the poo he did in this breakdown, especially that throw to Renfrow, looked, from memory, exactly like the picks he threw to Jessie Bates repeatedly.  So imagine that guy coming in the locker room and trying to say anything to you.  Even if it’s an apology.  I don’t want to hear it.  You are costing us a chance to win, and if you know you’re not capable of doing better, fall on your sword and take your ass to the bench.  That’s what a good teammate would do.  A shitty one keeps going out there selfishly doing the same dumb poo he’s been doing.  And Dan didn’t even show the scramble to stumble to fumble, which also seems like Bryce has done more times than I’ve ever seen one player do in my life already.  It’s just comedic at this point that anyone is still pretending he is anything but what he’s shown to be.  I really just wish he would bow out and give the players who are actually doing their job a fuging chance.
    • I think he has a chance and his mental makeup is a big part of why. I also think the Bears got a little complacent over the course of that game because the Vikings were completely inept on offense for most of it and once it started clicking for the Vikings the Bears couldn't get their head in the game and realize they had to wakeup and dial in again.
