The segment just ended but you can go there and click around the 6:45 mark to listen to it.

Quick run-down:

- Greeny brags about how he correctly predicted Cam Newton's great season and Golic admits he was wrong.

- Cam says he used the criticism as fuel and an "edge to get your juices flowing." Had lots of fuel to run off of with lockout.

- Cam says again that he needs to get better at protecting the football. Says his family members are his biggest critics. "All those yards are well and good, but I would've had more if I protected the football more." Says the Superbowl is a showcase of two great QBs who protect the football.

- Golic says it's surprising that Cam was more pass-first instead of a scrambling QB. Cam says "I'm a pocket passer that has the ability to run... because I'm not a battering ram."

- Cam believes the spread offense will start to be more prevalent in the pro game. Says it will never be exactly the way it is in college b/c of great athletic defenders in the pros but the offenses will evolve. Also points to The Golden Calf of Bristol as running a similar offense.

- Coach Rivera has not approached Cam to tell him not to take big hits. Cam says "My running game is passive."

- Cam (again) says he idolized Mike Vick while growing up in ATL. Used the analogy again of being like a video game player with great speed but also with great throwing ability. Does not want to be compared to just one player and wants to have his own unique skill set.

- Greeny asks Cam about a college football playoff. Cam says he wants it "to some degree" but that it's important to consider the number of games that would be played. Says he doesn't know much about BCS formula. "My advice would be to go undefeated and you'll be in the national championship game." Golic points out the irony in that statement as Auburn went undefeated in 2004 but did not make the title game.

- Cam again says his "fingers are crossed" that he will one day be playing in the Superbowl.

Good segment...good way to start the day. Plus I'm leaving work at lunch today. Huzzah.

you guys do realize that if you were thrown in front of camera and expect to talk to hundreds of thousands of people........poo probably wouldn't come out right until you became very seasoned and comfortable in that atmosphere.

Cam is still practically a kid.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
